CT Scan of an ancient technology to store data, they called it “hard disk”…. youtu.be/-1JWT4f5xXY?si=WjV_fRX3iMdyxtnU

Feeling bored and a little bit frustrated again. So I once again browsed the archives and exhumed some more or less interesting captures from the harddisk coffin.

My youngest son wanted me to take a photo of this lamp at a friend's house. He's using the photo as a background on his PC screen now. :-)

Had it lying about on my harddisk, saw another similiar photo on flickr, and thought doing a proper crop and posting it might be a good idea.

No processing here, only cropped.

Explore history is gone, but it reached 82 before I accepted an invite and posted it to some group which has kept it out of Explore since. Only photo I've had this happening with, I think. But I tend to avoid groups with obligatory commenting on the next X photos and groups designed solely to boost your favs.

Explore history - lo and behold - after more than a year it appeared again, at no. 39! :-)

Woow woow woow!

Times Square is awesome. I shot a couple of cool images there. This is one of it. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Look at the beautiful reflections on the street… There was a women standing right beside me saying: ”Man what a bad luck you have. It has been raining the whole week and you take pictures.”

I replied: “Good Lady have a look at the beautiful reflections on the street. I think I am really lucky to be here when it rains”.

I think the image wouldn’t have been half as good if there wasn’t a Noah like rain that night.

At the moment I am working as an intern for an electrical company and I really have no time to edit photos. It is so sad because I really have sick material laying here on my harddisk and even more sick ideas how to bring out cool images. I really hope to find some moments in the days to come to share some of the shots with you.

Until then,

Ben

die Festplatte ist voll - es ist Zeit, aufzuräumen - und da stolpere ich über alte Sachen.

The harddisk is full, so it's time to clean it up a little bit - and while doing so, I found some old stuff ...

Harddisk dolu, bu yüzden eski fotograflarin düzenliyorum ve bunu yaparken eski bir sey buldum ...

I found this shot on my harddisk and I wanted to post it before I leave on Saturday for holidays. It's true there are far too many subway shots in my stream but I've a weakness for those stations.

More old stuff that has been hanging around on my harddisk long enough:

In the viewfinder of my EXA I this time you can see two jugglers at the EJC 2011 in front of the Olympic Tower in Munich.

This picture has been taken in a single shot. Then a little FHDR processing has been applied. That's all.

Took some shots of a harddisk today. There is just one Strobe from the left above.

This one was taken with my EF 100 Macro Lens. It is my favorite lens at the moment.

.....loved how the background blended into a watercolor feeling :)

(I'm having harddisk trouble so I needed something smooth&peaceful to look at....ugh!)

HNFF!!

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Platters of a hard disk drive

An old Samsung hard disk. With 2 broken heads.

Some weeks ago my computer had the hickups.... and threw away 25 GB OF PHOTOS!!!!! :( Still busy re-organizing everything!

I was totally going crazy and it took one expensive day (and one complicated programme) to retrieve all my precious photos from the harddisk.....

Some of the photos were a bit 'FuCkEd Up' though..... This is the result!!

... very busy at work again, see you folks !

Anyway this image is dedicated to Andrea@Hamburg, who's harddisk has serious failure ! Toi,toi, toi, Andrea - ich drücke die Daumen !

LARGE Size - MUST.

Here 's another view. This was taken from the 30th floor of an HDB building.

I'd rate this composite one of the better ones in my night photography collection.

I've uploaded a super large /original size, an even bigger version on my harddisk. Contacts may download (in good faith and for viewing only ;-) ) the large file size and view it "full pixel" . One can even see the reflection of the electric red lanterns on the side street , bounce of one of the window panes. :-) . I'll mark it there.

Re: This was shot at 1930hrs...tail end of the blue hour at this time of the year. The sky comes of a looong exposure just enough to get the blue , I then added a cooling filter to accentuate the blue

Im more than an image you dream about and cherish...

Im your superstition.

This is the 3rd time Ive been to this place.. Im so obsessed with the lights.. It made me feel like Im in some virtual place.. like in Matrix... Im in the harddisk of some computers.. feels like Im in the future.. or at least Im at the time travel machine, going somewhere.. :P

I just love this place...

Pulau Tioman Jetty, Malaysia

3 Exposure HDR (-2, 0, +2), Post processed with Photoshop CS3.

Soft focus and halo treatment was used.

Handheld is indeed not as good for hdr i feel, or rather my hand i guess. The pictures are not exactly the same, resulting the hdr to be blur at some spots. So i use soft focus to cheat... =P But also due to i love the dreamy effects of soft focus.

Have a great weekend my friends!

Ok, my pc had failed me... PC crashed, laptop's harddisk crashed, another laptop not suitable for processing (too slow)...

V busy with work, no time reformat. Sigh...

Will try to be back on track, tons of pics waiting to be process....

At the beginning of each year I always make a backup of my processed photo's. I even have a backup of my backup. Please note the average lifetime of a harddisk is only 5 years. So do not forget to renew your harddisk. Regular backup protects your data. My digital photo backup started in 1998. My photo's are precious to me. My photo's are not yet in the cloud.
