Back Story .........................................

A few important things we need to discuss first.

Plan was to take the sidecar and a 20kilo bag of

kibble. That plan was changed at the last minute.

Why you ask ? Simple, it's all about safety, my safety !

As mentioned on more then one occasion Thailand is

rated the second most "Dangerous" roads in the world.

Only surpassed by war torn Libya ! Yesterday while out

gathering stuff for the run today, twice crazy drivers nearly

took me out. I might mention I'm driving the scooter/sidecar

with two big colorful windmills spinning like wild in order for

other drivers to always notice me ! Road construction and the

heat has made many drivers quite irritable causing loss of tempers, bad decisions and many conflicts ! Not Good !

So here's what I came up with for the new plan..........................

The 20 kilo dog food bag was split in half. Took a large plastic

bag and filled it up. Placed all the other stuff in the front basket

and under the seat. Now 10 kilos of dog kibble fits comfortably between my legs on the new bike. Much safer being able to weave in and around the crazy drivers. I'll get back to using the sidecar when the road construction is finished and the high temperature drops. Then the crazy drivers won't be so explosive and out of control.

OK, Now lets talk about this photo .................................................

Many of you have seen photos taken in this area from the past.

It's on the second floor at The Dog Palace , notice the Buddhas all lined up against the back wall.

The floor is tile and lots of fun for the dogs to play slip and slide. Their favorite game is "tag your it" which is always instigated by Mama ... ;-)~~~

Maybe 15-20 minutes is taken up with this activity, then it's time out with everybody flat on the floor .................................

Alright with that said there's one more very important item.

If you have been thinking about donating to this cause now

would be a great time to do it. Cupboards have been bare for

sometime and we sure could use some help.

Thanks goes out in advance to anyone willing to donate...... ;-)

Thank You.

This is Yankee, a beautiful german shepherd that lives with my wife´s brother back in Mexico. We really missed him a lot, playing with us and with our dogs. Even though he is very big, he has a soul

of a cute puppy and behaves as one, he is really a very cute dog

Quick update ---

No# 1 & I are exhausted but Wednesday

night we will be at the end of the funeral.

Like I said a Thai funeral can take awhile.

(the cremation ceremonies are on that day)

Today, Monday the 20th, we're taking a

short breather but will be back at the

temple late afternoon when more

monks and lots of chanting will

begin once again. Maybe

in a couple of hours

the dogs will be

over at the

m/c field.

Yesterday I nonchalantly slid out the side

door and wandered on over to where

Molly and Blondie have made their

temporarily permanent home.

In my hands was a special bag of food

made just for them. The food quickly

was consumed, they are real happy.

Today is being scheduled then rescheduled.

Once the dogs get a chance to run over at

the m/c field we can do another schedule.

What that means is no# 1's brother, will

take us back to the temple whenever

we are ready to go. Chanting with

a number of monks and nuns

goes on till late at night.

There's probably a bunch of stuff I'm missing

but we can catchup on that stuff much later.

Thank you all for your support and patience.

Our regular scheduled broadcast will

resume again in the very near future ;-)

Thank You.

Abused & Abandoned Jungle Dogs.

5AM I'm standing on the porch as

lightning/thunder/monsoon rain

& the winds dance around me.

All the sudden there's a loud

snap, crack, thud, bang ! ! !

An old mango tree had split

right down the middle and

came crashing down next

to the back of our house !

Figured this was a sign from above ;-0~

Everything was neatly packed on the scooter.

Fuel tank is topped off, oil level had been checked.

Camera gear is as always safely packed out of sight.

Quickly went through a mental list -

Storm like conditions now -

Extremely dangerous roads -

No# 1's still real sick & needs me -

Temple dogs are all ok right now -

Unload the scooter and stay home -

Went back inside, checked on no# 1,

then threw in the towel & went to bed.

It's going on noon and the skies are still

full of dark angry clouds with off an on rains.

Tomorrow I'll attempt this all over again ... ;-)~

My boy, diving for sticks in the ginormous leaf pile in my front yard. Can you tell he had fun? Haha.

It was super hard to pick though, so you can see the contenders next to this in my photostream if you wish. :)

I went with this because I don't have many action shots in his set, and well, it looks like the year is coming to a close so soon!

Of course it need not be bad times to

plant such a seed, anytime is a good time.

Here's an update on our transportation

situation. Looks like the car we borrow

will be going into the shop in a few

days to fix the transmission ?

In the mean time no# 1 stays in contact

with the nuns and all is OK at the temple.

When a return trip is made all the dogs

will be given their monthly inoculation.

Also more supplies will be delivered.

Mr Boney Baloney racing down our

long driveway after chasing a bird.

The birds chase him then he in

turn chases them, funny dog.

No#1 had to do an emergency run

into Bangkok and won't return for

a couple more days. This puts a

dent in my temple dog schedule.

But overall the nuns will report in

if there's any major problems.

Thunder/lightning/rain has

returned. High heat and

humidity as well.

FYI:

Boney is a temple dog rescue.

He was 24hrs from deaths door.

He weighs 16.5 kilos but when

he barks he sounds like a 100

kilo Rottweiler on steroids ...;-)

Fast when it comes to snakes.

Not bad for a dog with only

one good working eye.

He's almost six yrs old now and was only

1 1/2 months old when we found him.

Mr Boney Baloney tickles

my funny bone a lot with

his dry sense of humor ;-)

Photo No# 1 of 2.

Today was a double run to the mud cobra field.

Best I remember, here's how it all went down.

Plan was to grab Zoomer, Mama and The Monkey.

And that completely fell apart as soon as I started

to put on my jungle warfare costume, dogs went

absolutely bananas. Like fogs on a hot rock ;-0-

So that first plan was aborted and a new plan

was quickly put in action. Actually the new

plan was a new version of the old plan.

The Pumpkin, Mr Boney and The Monkey

were all loaded into the sidecar and off

we went to the mud cobra field at last.

And as you can see here in this photo

they went completely insane chasing

racing and jumping about all at once.

Furthermore take a look at this photograph

and you will notice a tree line way in the back.

The shelter is to our left, they raced at full

volume from the time we entered the field

all the way to that tree line and all the way

back to right here. Plus it's really warm too.

To that tree line is a long quarter mile away !

Behind us, where we enter the m/c field is

an even longer quarter mile away from us.

A large amount of water was

consumed by all the dogs ;-)

So what's the green bowl you ask ?

I'll get to that subject in photo no# 2

Abused, Abandoned Jungle Dogs.

Pumpkin Pies current condition.

{Archive Photo.}

We are back home and Pumpkin is with us ;-)

Here's how it all went down ---

The dog doctor is quite familiar with all our dogs.

They have logs for each and every one of them.

Point is he's well aware of The Zoomers tumor

and The Zoomer and The Pumpkin are sisters.

First he check her for any rectal blood then

moved on to using an ultrasound on her

belly and esophagus and all points

north, south, east, and west.

What he found was some fresh scaring in her

esophagus. Most likely she had been chewing

& swallowing something abrasive which made

for the blood when she threw-up. Then he went

on to speculate the same as my speculation and

that is why she was chewing on he back flank. ?

Inside her esophagus was driving he crazy and that

is why she is chewing on herself out of frustration.

Now thinking back Pumpkin has always had some

problems with her skin condition. A number of times

she has seen the doctor for injections and medication.

So, not only does she have meds for her internal

problems that should be cleared up soon she

also has meds for her skin problems too.

It's true she has beautiful fur but she seems to be

allergic to herself. Odd ? Yes, but it is what it is.

I think Pumpkin is 6 years old and from now on

she may have to stay on some kind of meds

to help with her allergies. The doctor

scanned her for quite sometime

looking for any signs of a

tumor, he found none.

All dog owners know even adult dogs will act

like puppies from time to time and chew stuff.

There's a chapter on this subject

in The Dog Book for Dummies ;-)-

All in all it turned out to be a successful day.

A long day but nun the less a good day to

find and start curing Pumpkins issues.

Right now she's laying in The Monkeys bed.

The Monkey is of course in hers while

Mama is laying beside me. Boney

is outside laying in the shade.

Where's The Zoomer you ask ?

She's helping no# 1 water

the garden. Mimi is off

chasing lizards ;-)

The temple dogs are all doing well.
