Diwali is a festival that is celebrated in India with great vigour and pomp. An essential ingredient of happiness for a family. In terms of celebration stakes it would be akin to Christmas. New clothes, new everything. A quest for prosperity and happiness. A celebration of good over evil.
This was shot some time ago but lay unpublished. Now is as good a time as any to make it public. So here is wishing you Happy Diwali!

Wishing you all a happy new year. I was goinig to head down to the Coffs Harbour jetty to take some time exposures, but every man and his dog were there parking and the thought of all the people trying to get out after the fire works did not excite me enough to even attempt it so I wend back to my sisters place, set up the tri pod and watched it from the balcony.
2021 has been quite the year here in British Columbia. Heat domes, wildfires, atmospheric rivers, floods, Covid and it's many variants and lately Arctic outflow and bitter cold. But we survive and look forward to better days ahead in 2022. And yet, amidst it all, those who post here on Flickr have made us smile and laugh and stare in awe at the beauty around us. Thank you for sharing your beautiful images my Flickr friends and thank you for your encouragement with mine. Have a Happy New Year and all the best to everyone for 2022 from Abbotsford, B.C.
Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter! It has been so much fun to watch you grow up into the incredible person that you have become. You have made my life so amazing in a million ways! Being your mother definitely brings more happiness. You still continue to amaze me with your brilliance and your singular approach to life! You really deserve the best as you give so much so unconditionally and I love you millions, my gorgeous girl. I am so proud of what you have achieved so far and the obstacles you have overcome. Enjoy your day, my lovely daughter and all your up and coming celebrations.

I have no idea as to what sort of fly this is but I liked the iridescence in its wings. This image has been cropped, the fly was around 3 mm long.

So this is from last month when I attended the ‘Snow Ball’ in Denver a Christmas themed pageant/celebration. Everyone was very dressed up and it was quite an extravagant affair. I wanted to look as good as I could so I sought out a professional make up artist. He was the lead makeup artist for Denver Fashion week and couldn’t leave that venue, anyway I went to him and was backstage with a bunch of models and it was quite the surreal experience getting my makeup done with a bunch of models getting ready to go on the runway. I drove back to the hotel with a wig and my makeup on…and some skinny jeans (that still needed some padding…lol) Anyway, I met a few new friends at the gala and it was a fun time, looking forward to the next time I can do something similar. Happy Holidays to everyone and thank you for your comments and support, I read everything 😀
