Happy Christmas to all my Flickr friends. I am sorry I haven't been around much but life has been rather trying of late. I hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Hope to be back in the New Year - refreshed and with some shots I am happy with!!!!

Here we are, rolling into Monday. Where did the weekend go?
Thanks for all the tips on how to catch fruit flies..:)) And I did or do put the fruit in the refrigerator, which is why I sometimes have fruit flies in there..;) The hike went great. There was a couple from Chicago and they couldn't believe we were hiking with T-shirts on in the middle of November..;)

The African wild dog (Lycaon pictus), also known as the painted hunting dog,[2] painted wolf,[3] African hunting dog,[4] Cape hunting dog or African painted dog,[5][6] is a canid native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is the largest of its family in Africa, and the only extant member of the genus Lycaon, which is distinguished from Canis by dentition highly specialised for a hypercarnivorous diet, and a lack of dewclaws. It was classified as endangered by the IUCN in 2016, as it had disappeared from much of its original range. The decline of these populations is ongoing, due to habitat fragmentation, human persecution and disease outbreaks.[1]

I've been saving this picture I took in September of a Wild Turkey at Rancho (Moss Beach) for a Thanksgiving post! Its feathers are really beautiful, especially if you zoom in close, happy Turkey Day all!
This little beauty was chillin' and enjoying the afternoon sun.
This is a photo I took a good while ago and I keep coming across it and say 'oh I'll use that next week!' .... next week comes and goes and I've either forgotton or decided to upload something else.
