Mars is the bright object in the upper right above the constellation Sagittarius. The Milky Way is almost vertical and barely visible above the swaying palm trees.

Tomorrow 3/14 is Pi day in honor Pi (aka π) of course! π is defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference C to its diameter d. π is approximately 3.14159... It's decimal representation goes on forever, so irrational!
My husband and I have a special use for π . We multiply the time estimate for any task by π to get a more realistic estimate. So..if we think something will take an hour and we actually finish in less than 3.14159 hours we are happy. We call it "The rule of pi".
I actually stood on double yellow lines in between traffic to grab this shot. I cut out yellow paper to make the top part of the Pi symbol.

After a week of heavy rain, the River Ver overflowed its banks and flooded part of the lawns and paths in St Albans Park. On Sunday you could only walk there in rubber boots. But Yashka was very happy, rushed through the water headlong and swam twice in the cold river and lake.

It was -28C that night and while fumbling with the settings, the ISO accidently got switched to a noisy 3200 and I was too cold to notice...yikes, not too happy about that. Stupid big warm mitts. haha

I want to wish all of my flickr Friends a Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy that turkey and all the trimmings. I hope yours is a blessed day with family, friends, food, and football! :)
(And yes, wild turkeys are skillful fliers...this is from a set I took last year. The turkeys had flown about 60 feet or so into the air and were walking along the branches of the pine trees like tightrope walkers eating the pine cones. Look for my album.)
