I was ill for most of Christmas and so barely left the house. However, given the weather was pretty rubbish for most of the period I didnt feel like I was missing any photographic opportunities!
I took this at the weekend, probably the first possible sunset for almost a month so it was nice to get out and get a shot though its nothing special.
In the distance is Cragg Vale. This road that runs up the middle of it is the longest continuou climbing road in the UK, a length of just over 5.5 miles at an average gradient 3%. Just a bit of useless information!

This photo was taken as the sun was going down and, because of the low light, I wasn’t happy with the quality of the image. Really love the shape of tree and its roots. This sounds like a job for – filters!

The sun was shining today and the temperature was warm so Scott and I spent the afternoon outside raking the yard and getting rid of the winter debris.
The tree idea popped into my mind as we raked. It didn't turn out as well as I hoped but that's okay. We're not quite at spring so this will have to do for new growth while we wait for a garden to grow.

Such a happy time for us! The wedding of Jim's son was so sweet and simple and joyful! Just family. Very meaningful time for all of us.
This is Jim and I after the ceremony and much picture taking...I think every member of the family had a camera! It was a well documented event! It was in the evening about 7:30 and the temp was about 95 or 98 degrees....hot, hot, hot and muggy! And still we all had giant smiles!
Nice to be back on flickr saying Hi! to all of my friends here!
I think they are either happy or maybe arguing. It does happen with couples sometimes. lol

I played and played with this one and I'm still not happy with it. I went to all the trouble to add the clouds and than I ran it through Topaz Simplify and lost the details in the clouds..:( I know the fix, but I just got tired of messing with it..:) It still has a painterly look to it and that's kind of what I was looking for.
I finally found a translator program. It's one of those in the Chrome store, for free. It's a little strange in the sense that it wants to translate everything..:) Even if I click on something in English, it translates it into English...:) Oh well, now I have one..lol..
This is from Bull Creek Greenbelt in Austin. We had those two heavy rains back to back, the first one washed the trash into the creek and the second one flushed it out. Presto, clean water..:) Gotta love it!!

Happy Christmas to everyone who views my photos and reads my write-ups, and especially those who follow, fave and comment. I hope 2025 will be full of exciting photo-opportunities for you all. This will be my last upload until after Christmas. This is a straight off the camera Polar Bear that I could only fit in the frame by switching to portrait mode. He was heading straight for our Zodiac and was just about to enter the water. Taken in Svalbard in the summer.
And I've just heard on Richard Osman's House of Games that the global population of Polar Bears is a mere 26,000 individuals.

Today 27 years ago at 1:29 a.m. I gave birth to this beautiful young woman beside me ("Ms Tina"). She was born 6 weeks early and the doctor informed me, she would be fine because she was a fighter. Boy was he correct!
She definitely is that and has always been. She takes life and runs with it.
She has brought her dad and I such joy and love.
Sweetie "Happy Birthday, we love you"
(PS - I can not have you move to another state; I will miss you so much and can not have my best friend that far away. I have to be near to my grandkiddos when you have them. Remember, I have to see those faces that I saw on your face and still from time still see.)

WIT: We haven't seen my husband's grandson in months because of Covid concerns. He also spent some time in hospital. But he's better now, and it was great to see him. It was difficult to get a nice shot because he seemed to be always in front of the sliding door, so he was always backlit. I did a bit of photo editing to make his face look brighter.
