I'm not really into that sort of stuff....Happy Fence Friday, but this is a fence of sorts......or is it a wall? And it is Friday. But there is a missing ingredient. I'm not really so happy that I want to go all flouncy about celebrating fences on a Friday when I have a lot to do before any thought of relaxing at the weekend. Never mind, I hope to get there....eventually.
Anyway, whether it is Friday and I am happy or not this is the perhaps 150 year old slate 'fence' or wall that runs alongside what was an old tramway that carried cut slate stone from higher up the valley down towards Tanygrisau and the network of narrow gauge railways across North wales towards the coast for export to the world.
These old fences have so much character, old with irregular sharp, pointy slabs of slate piercing the fog, so many of them encrusted in colourful and varied lichens depending on their location, moisture and altitude
I wasn't going to post a valentine photo but I spotted this on my way to work this morning. I've passed it several times before and not noticed!
Lets gather around and celebrate the sparkling New Year. May it bring hapiness, good health and surprises. Best wishes all my Flickr friends for a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2016 .

Maggie just looks so sweet laying there and enjoying the sun. I couldn’t help but take a picture of her. So happy window Wednesday
Whist today is lovely and sunny it is only 13° C (55°F) so still too cold to be seeing any flies so another from the archives.
Happy FriYay to all and have a super weekend.

Mr. Dagwood Smith #7 sound asleep on his back on my vintage Ralph Lauren sheets! Ya’ gotta’ love him! Happy ScATsURDAY!
Miss Teddie Smith #4 ... well, I forgot to close the door into the spare bedroom, AND I forgot to close the drawer in my childhood dresser. Couldn't find Teddie anywhere and she wouldn't come to me calling. Of course, all the clothes in there will have to be washed, covered with cat hair.
We love her though! Happy ScATsURDAY!
In previous years I have looked backwards at the year just gone, but I am only going to look forwards this time. That was the reason I chose this sunrise image of the Llanberis tree looking along Llyn Padarn towards the notch of the Pass of Llanberis with the Glyders on the left and Snowdon on the right.
I hope you all have a happy and prosperous 2024, and I also hope you manage to achieve personal ambitions and tick off at least a few from your bucket list. Best wishes.
This is an addition on a traditional brick home in my hood ... views of Lake Ivanhoe out the front windows ... I think it has an outdoor kitchen and eating and living area, probably opening to the back yard. Very cool me thinks. Happy Window Wednesdays!
When I placed warm, just-dried laundry on the kitchen counter, Jimmy could not have been more happy. I took lots of photos; thank you for your indulgence.
