Had the opportunity at the beginning of the year to head over to Trinity Lutheran Church for a Saturday morning and shoot with the Peoria Flickr folks. Even though I was hoping for some solid HDR-ness from a church shoot, I ended up more satisfied with my non-HDR images like this one.

These lamps are built on handmade wooden frames, secured with glued leather straps for a tight but flexible hold.

The yarn is wrapped around the frames in a way that shows off the yarn to its best and allows a small amount of play, but keeps the yarn secure in place.

The yarn itself is hand dyed, carded, and spun by myself, and consists of mostly wool with bamboo rayon, silk, and sparkle additions for interest. Wool is flame-resistant, long-wearing, and holds vivid colors – perfect for a lamp covering! Lamp comes with hardware for hanging, as well.
