What a great bunch of guys! My fortieth birthday bash. I pulled a hamstring in the first half (chasing down Paul Treagus) and had to sit and watch until we could party.

Notes - Ensure front foot is flat on the floor (not on your toes). Keep torso upright (not leaning).

Start by lying on your back. Slowly raise one leg to a 90 degree angle. Grasp at your thigh with your hands and hold for 30 to 60 seconds. Be sure not to pull to hard on your thigh in the beginning, but rather repeat the stretch two to four times and as you become more flexible you will be able to pull the thigh closer to your body.

It's been two days since the weekend and my hamstring is still bugging me. Been living off these ice packs, rotating between them and a heat pack. I almost have enough where the first ice pack is frozen again by the time I want to use it. Almost...

The North Carolina Tar Heels, a power five program out of the Atlantic Coast Conference, dealt Old Dominion its first home defeat since November 2015. But in the loss, ODU gained a new starting quarterback.

 

True freshman Steven Williams, a graduate of Woodrow Wilson H.S. in Washington, D.C., replaced starting quarterback Jordan Hoy and backup QB Blake LaRussa in the 53-23 loss.

"When you don't have a first down in the first quarter and you have no energy on the sideline because the players feel it, you have to make the move," ODU head football coach Bobby Wilder explained. "I didn't go into this game thinking [Williams] would play."

 

Seeing his first action, the 17 year old Williams completed 9-of-20 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw an interception and lost a fumble. Williams added 34 rushing yards on seven attempts.

 

"We haven't developed an identity on offense," Wilder noted. "Stevie Williams today gave us an identity. Steven Williams is the quarterback of the Old Dominion football team moving forward."

"They just said 'let's go," Williams explained of how he learned he was about to receive his first college playing time. "My teammates were all behind me. I just had to go do my job and we'll be fine."

 

Old Dominion outscored North Carolina (1-2), 16-14, in the second half, after trailing the Tar Heels, 39-7, at the half.

 

Prior to the game, ODU learned All-Conference USA running back Ray Lawry, the program's all-time leading rusher, has a torn hamstring. Head coach Bobby Wilder reveals the injury could keep Lawry sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp dismissed claims top forward Mohamed Salah had been selfish on the ball and praised the Egypt international's excellent start to the campaign ahead of Saturday's (Dec 4) trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

 

Salah is the Premier League's top scorer this season with 13 goals after 14 matches. The 29-year-old also leads the charts for the most assists (eight), an improvement from his tally of only five in 37 games last season.

 

"We didn't have a specific talk on that because it wasn't necessary. These things happen naturally," Klopp told reporters on Friday when asked if he had talked to Salah about his decision-making.

 

"He was never criticised by us for being too selfish because he never was. What helps a lot is experience so you know what to do in situations and areas of the pitch.

 

"Mo now has the experience. He is calm enough and has not lost any kind of greed for scoring and developed technically again, so he has more time to see the right things in the different situations... Very often he makes the right decision."

 

Klopp also praised Portuguese forward Diogo Jota, who has scored 22 goals in all competitions since joining Liverpool from Wolves last year, including four in their last three league games.

 

"Diogo is an incredible package," Klopp said. "He has personality, he's really smart, organised, structured in a nice way.

 

"When I saw him first I thought he'd be a player for me. He's so intense in all situations, technically on a great level. He has incredible quality."

 

Klopp said Joe Gomez (calf) and Naby Keita (hamstring) returned to training on Thursday but the pair would not be involved on Saturday.

 

Liverpool are third in the league with 31 points, two points behind leaders Chelsea and one behind Manchester City. Wolves are eighth with 21 points.
