There were 6 coyotes hunting a white-tailed deer doe on the north shore of Lower Derby Lake today. They had torn her hamstrings up pretty badly, but she was still fighting them off and keeping them at bay when I left after watching them for over an hour. She was bleeding a bit fromm her back end. In the end, I am sure the coyotes will get their meal, but not without a fight. These photos are best viewed in the large size. The deer and coyotes were about 600 yards away on the far side of the lake.

Seemed like a good idea at the time! Which included sleep deprivation,freezing cold, a torn hamstring muscle, yet to have breakfast, freezing cold, dawn, and freezing cold, but I happened to have my simple P&S camera in my pocket! It was freezing cold!

Marathoner Kate has just finished a brisk 23 km "long, slow, distance" run in about 2½ hours. The Bank Street Running Room has excellent bars along the outside wall to assist runners with their post-run calf and hamstring stretches.

Yayyyyy for leg dayyyy!!!! Worked the triceps today too. I burned exactly 800 calories, 28% fat cals in 01:30! One thing I realized today was how freaking weak my little wrists are. I did frontal squats for the first time and I honestly felt like it was a wrist and arm workout more than my legs..OUCH I'll get there though, just need some practice. Also I did 4 sets of walking lunges, 40 steps each set holding 15 lbs the first 2 sets and 12 lbs the second two sets...and I thought I was going to fall on my face. My legs were ON FIRE Want tight, strong hamstrings..do walking lunges!! How's everybody's Wednesday going?? Hope y'all are killing it!!

You should try to get around 20-30 grams of protein at each meal. Spreading protein out will help you in achieving your protein needs. For a goal of 180 grams, each of your six daily meals should contain at least 30 grams of protein.

90/365: Spring Renewal

 

Spring brings a time for renewal and birth. A time to move forward from the past and refresh with something new. Approximately 1 year ago I felt an immense pain in my hamstring. At the time, it was thought this was a minor hamstring injury. As time moved forward it was reveled that this was a major back issue. As spring comes, I’m trying to still move forward with my new way of life, grieving for the old and sometime excited for the future.

Worked at home today due to the hamstring. Mobility is ok. It's minor, but there is still bruising. I have pretty good range of motion compared to the other times I've hurt my hamstring. Iced it and rested it.
