I have to admit I haven't seen this very often.The moon's shadow started out the night in a vertical position higher in the sky but ended up with a nearly horizontal shadow a few hours later as it set....

My first time trying this out

Alpenglow on Yosemite's Half Dome at sunset as it reflects on the Merced River. Unless you're standing there watching that light reflect off the rocks, it's almost hard to believe how intense that glow can get. This was shot at its peak just a few minutes before the onset of twilight.

Half Moon Bay began as a rural agricultural area, primarily used by Mission San Francisco de Asís (established in 1776) for grazing of cattle, horses, and oxen

The community began to develop in the 1840s as San Mateo County's first real town. It is a thriving fishing industry in addition to its continued importance to coastal agriculture.

It's been quite the week, had my first front page photo on Thursday, and I think we've had 3 overcast days in a row here in Las Vegas.

I have family coming in over the weekend that I haven't seen in a year and then my wife and I are off to Maui to celebrate our 10th Anniversary (a little early, its not official till August), so I'll be off flickr until the week of June 23rd - see you then!
