Vanwege de ligging tussen het Noord Brabantse Eindhoven en de zandgronden van de Nederlandse Kempen wordt de gemeente Veldhoven ook wel de āPoort van de Kempenā genoemd. Open de poort en de zo kenmerkende Brabantse gezelligheid werpt zich aan je voeten. Veldhoven heeft zoān 44.000 inwoners en is daarmee een middelgrote gemeente te noemen, bestaande uit verschillende wijken met ieder hun eigen karakter.
De wijk Cobbeek-Centrum werd gebouwd in de tweede helft van de jaren ā70. Dat zie je onder andere terug in de bebouwing met veel knusse hofjes. In het centrum ligt een groot winkelcentrum met een heerlijke variĆ«teit aan winkels. In de directe omgeving van het centrum is een aantal etagewoningen gebouwd waarvan de bewoners de voordelen van centraal wonen en alle bijkomende voorzieningen dagelijks ervaren. Naast alle winkels in het City Centrum vind je er op loopafstand het zwembad en sporthal den Ekkerman, de bibliotheek, de muziekschool, het wijkcentrum Dān Uitwijk, theater en bioscoop De Schalm, het Burgemeester Elsenpark en twee supermarkten voor je dagelijkse boodschappen. En vergeet de gezellige horeca rondom het City Centrum niet!
In de rustige en groene buurt die Cobbeek is, ligt aan Wal op de bovenste, derde etage een heerlijk licht twee kamer appartement. Je woont er op een hoek en kijkt dus weidser uit over de omgeving, zonder last te hebben van bijvoorbeeld een bovenbuurvrouw die lopend met naaldhakken op haar parket tikt.
Je bezoek meldt zich via de bel-etage op de begane grond, dus geen onaangekondigd bezoek bij je voordeur. Eenmaal binnen in de goedverzorgde woning, valt je oog direct op de grote woonkeuken die voor een deel de uitstraling van de zonnige L-vormige living bepaalt. Het fris rode keukenblok is voorzien van diverse apparatuur, zoals een vaatwasser, 5-pits kooktoestel en een afzuigkap. Via de keuken stap je ook zo het balkon van 5 m2 op.
De grote slaapkamer is 16m3 en heeft een grote vaste inbouwkast. De moderne badkamer heeft naast een douche, het toilet en een vaste wastafel, ook de wasmachineaansluiting in de ruimte. Er zijn mogelijkheden om het appartement anders in te delen zodat er een slaapkamer bij kan worden gemaakt als dat gewenst is.
Het openbaar vervoer is prima geregeld in deze wijk; grote broer Eindhoven is bijvoorbeeld snel en goed bereikbaar. Met de auto ben je binnen vijf minuten op de snelweg A2 en A67 voor je verbinding met de rest van Nederland. Wil je buiten Nederland, dan is vliegen wellicht een optie? Eindhoven Airport ligt in de buurt, zonder dat je daar overigens een moment (geluids-)hinder van ondervindt.
De servicekosten van dit appartement bedragen ā¬ 95,00 per maand. Voor ca. ā¬ 18,00 per jaar ben je in het bezit van een vereiste parkeervergunning.
De huidige bewoners ervaren deze woonomgeving als praktisch en erg gezellig, mede dankzij de leuke buren. De burenbarbecue is dan ook een jaarlijks terugkerend feestje! Jij bent ook uitgenodigd.

Veldhoven, a town in North Brabant that is known as the "The Gateway to the Kempenā because of its location between Eindhoven and the sandy soils of the Dutch Kempen. So open the gate (Let's walk through the gate) and let's experience the characteristic atmosphere of North Brabant with it's burgundian hospitality. Veldhoven is a town with 44,000 Inhabitants which makes it a town that is between a city and a village. It excites of different area's with their own unique characteristics.
The neighborhood Cobbeek-Centre was build in the second half of the 70s . You can tell this by the style of the buildings and plentiful characteristic small courtyards. Centrally located is a large shopping center called the City Centre with a large variety of shops. In the immediate vicinity of the City Centre you'll find a number of apartment buildings which offer their residents the benefits of this central location and the experience of all additional facilities daily. In addition to all the shops in the City Centre, you will find a swimming pool and a sports hall āDen Ekkermanā, a library, music school and community center āD'n Uitwijkā, theater and cinema āThe Schalmā, the āBurgemeester Elsen Parkā and two supermarkets for your groceries. All within walking distance of the appartement. And don't forget the sociable restaurants and bars in and around the City Centre.
In the quiet and green neighborhood of Cobbeek, located on the top level, the fourth floor, is a wonderfully bright two bedroom apartment. Situated on a corner, it provides you with a view over the surroundings that is wider than others. Being the top appartement you will have the benefit of no neighbor above you that, for instance, can bother you with walking on her hard wood floor with her high heels.
Guests will ring the buzzer downstairs and through an intercom you can invite them up, so no unannounced visitors at your front door. Once inside the well maintained apartment you will see the large kitchen which in part determines the appearance of the bright L - shaped living room. The fresh, red kitchen is equipped with appliances such as a dishwasher , five-burner stove and a hood. The 5 m2 balcony is accessible through the kitchen. In the front is the spacious 16 m2 master bedroom with a build in wardrobe. The bathroom is modern and is equipped with shower, toilet and sink, and a washing machine connection.
Big brother Eindhoven is swiftly and easily accessible by public transportation, which is very well organized in this area. By car, you are on the A2 or A67 highway within five minutes so you can quickly go to the rest of the Netherlands. Would you like to go outside the Netherlands? Then maybe flying is an option. Eindhoven Airport is nearby, without bothering you with the nuisance (sound) of an airport.
The monthly service fee for this apartment is ā¬ 95.00, this includes maintenance, insurance, water, etc. Approximately ā¬ 18.00 per year gets you a parking permit, so you are guaranteed a parking space in front of the building.
The current residents experience this area as a practical and very enjoyable area to live, and also because of the nice neighbors. The neighbors have an annual barbecue party, of course you are invited!

Colour restored by setting the camera to shoot both in Black and White JPEG with the GH4's Black and White colour filter simulation set to red to make the reds appear white on the Black and White image, along with it also shooting a colour Raw version. Then I took the low res preview version of the colour photo and on photoshop projected it on to the high res Black and White JPEG.
The Oosterdam has arriving at Villefranche-sur-Mer (Port de la Sante) the cruise port for Nice (France).
The village of Villefranche sur Mer, perched on the bay, is located just over the hill from Nice (5 minutes away) and 10 minutes away from Monaco.
The charming Old Town of Villefranche cascades down the hillside to the sea, and the bayās sandy one-kilometer long beach offers great recreation throughout the year.
On a site occupied since roman times, it was in 1295 that 'modern' Villefranche-sur-Mer was founded by Charles II of Anjou, at that time Count of Provence.
The town soon fell into the hands of the Dukes of Savoy and remained in Italian ownership until 1860, when the region was transferred back to France.
The town is built on terraces up a steep hill that overlooks Cap Ferrat and the azure blue sea of the Mediterranean.
Villefranche-sur-Mer is small enough that exploring is easy and all principal attractions can easily be reached from the center

We stopped by the armoury on our way out of the bunker complex. Hal grabbed a heavy looking sniper rifle, whilst I took the machete my captor had been using. I've always been more handy with a blade than a gun.
"Where are we headed, Hal?" I'm skeptical of him still.
"My orders were to capture or kill Mordred using all and any necessary force. We're gonna do just that, ma'am."
"...That didn't answer my question. Where. Are. We. Going?"
*Sigh*"A small fortress nearby. Mordred's merc's pretty well control the area, so we'll have to be quiet....ish."
We decide the quietest way to get to Mordred is on foot. In itself, the whole walk takes around twenty minutes. Hal sets up the rifle and looks around.
"From the looks of it, there's about thirty guys, heavily armed. Nothing we can't take ourselves, right?"
"I'm injured and have only a knife, and the rifle has maybe fifteen rounds. I'd say we're fucked, Mr. Jordan, unless-"
"Unless THIS!" He says enthusiastically, reaching into his coat.
"Uhh... what is that...? Oh... my god..."
He holds in his hand an emerald green ring, with a beautiful carving of a lantern on it. Hal slips it over his finger and it begins to glow, as he recites a verse.
"In brightest day, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might,
Beware my power... Green Lantern's light!"
And at that, a giant green fireball shoots into the air, taking Hal with it...
