Spät-romanische Ziegelsteinskirche

Die Kirche in Hals ist Dänemarks größte Dorfkirche. Die ältesten Bestandteile sind aus dem 12 Jahrhundert.

1219 ist die älteste Jahreszahl, die in Verbindung mit Hals Kirche genannt worden ist.

Die ursprüngliche Kirche war eine kleine spät-romanische Ziegelsteinskirche, dessen Mauerwerk teilweise in dem ältesten Teil der jetzigen Kirche bewahrt worden ist, das heißt, die zwei Teile des Kirchenschiffes die an dem viel späteren aufgeführten Westturm angrenzen.

In der Kirche befindet sich unter anderem ein Taufbecken aus Granit. Das Taufbecken ist das älteste Inventar der Kirche, und ist sogar älter als die Kirche selbst. Dieses Faktum eröffnet die Spekulationen für zwei Interpretationsmöglichkeiten; entweder muss das Taufbecken für eine andere und ältere Kirche in Hals geschaffen worden sein, oder es ist von einer romanischen Kirche in der nähe von Randers, wo man diese Type Taufbecken vorfindet, hierher gebracht worden.
