Greenstage is doing the Shakespeare history play saga again.
Traffic was bad on the way to Woodland park zoo I thought we would be late but we turned out to be one of the first ones there. We got up right to the front near the footlights and spread out our blankets like for a picnic. It didn't seem to me like a lot of other people came. I felt like I was the one superfan applauding the play. I might have come off as a bit obnoxious, knowing a lot of the lines as I do. I was just trying to pump up the audience with my applause.
This version of Hal acts like after he makes his vow to shape up to his father he discovers how much he enjoys battle and bloodshed in the battle of Shrewsbury. He really gets ruthless when he's fighting Hotspur. This makes sense in his transformation to Henry V. I hope I will get to see him play Henry all the way into that.

I got a great acknowledgement from him after ward. He recognized exactly who he was supposed to be and appreciated me cheering him on. He also noticed me mouthing some of his lines and said I should have joined him up there!

Checked out the new exhibit at the Cistern over the holidays. Loved the sensory input. Would have liked a bit more variety in lighting and sound effects.

The Oosterdam's next stop is the Port of Civitavecchia, the access point to visit Rome.
We went to Rome in 2012 on a cruise stop here. This visit we checked out the medieval old town of Civitavecchia.

Frans Hals (1580 - 1666)
Frans Hals was as a Dutch painter during the Dutch Golden Age. He was born in Antwerp but raised and lived in Haarlem for most of his life. His mentors were Adam Van Noort and Van Mander. His early works are a mystery, but beginning in 1618, Hals’ painting show superior talent in portraiture.
