Only 29 blocks to go, Lily Peeps! Now is the time to get serious about the layout of dear HAL.
I've had many, many thoughts about color layout and really ought to do a blog post about them to solicit input and advice from you, my quilty friends. So, tonight I will sleep and mull it over then try to put my thoughts and questions into words tomorrow.

n informal portrait of an extremely rich merchant, Isaac Massa, and a pretty burgomaster's daughter, Beatrix van der Laen. They commissioned their fellow townsman, Frans Hals, to portray them on the occasion of their marriage. Beatrix proudly displays the rings on her right forefinger: the bottom one is an engagement ring and the top one her wedding ring. Isaac holds his right hand over his heart - a sign of love and fidelity.
Frans Hals has painted large parts of the portrait in a loose and almost nonchalant manner. Sometimes using a single brushstroke he is able to achieve a true-to-life effect. The placing of a couple of white marks on Beatrix's stomach makes the material appear to shine. Details such as the cap, ruffs and cuffs are more accurately depicted.

HAL: Let me put it this way, Mr. Amor. The 9000 series is the most reliable computer ever made. No 9000 computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information. We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error.
A group of people (rich, chic and carefree) enjoy themselves at a 'garden party': a festive gathering in the grounds of a large country house. Elegantly dressed people talk, laugh, eat, drink, flirt and make music. The painter Dirck Hals was almost ten years younger than his famous elder brother Frans Hals. Dirck probably learnt to paint from his brother, though their paintings bear little resemblance to each other. Whereas Frans mainly painted portraits, Dirck made so-called 'companies': groups of fashionably-dressed people at parties in gardens or indoors. Nowadays such paintings depicting daily life are called genre paintings.
Garden parties were popular subjects for paintings in the seventeenth century. The theme was taken from medieval depictions of love gardens: beautiful gardens with elegantly dressed people making music and flirting. Many parts of this garden party fit within this tradition: an enormous garden, exotic birds and the warning element of the monkey.

Op vrijdag 20 mei werd (in helaas kille en regenachtig weer) het grootste cruiseschip van de Holland America Line in Rotterdam gedoopt.
Koningin Maxima verrichtte de ceremonie vanaf het schip. Vanuit schip werd op afstand een fles champagne tegen de boeg geslagen.

Friday May 20 was the Naming Cermony of MV Koningsdam of Holland America Line. Queen Maxima of the Netherlands christened the ship in Rotterdam.

The HAL Lancer is a light attack/COIN chopper based on the Aerospatiale SA 315B Lama (produced in India as the HAL Cheetah/Cheetal).
This aircraft is MSN 2332.
Was zelf besteld om RRF21 op te halen bij Volker Rail. Daar aangekomen bleek de 1304 verplaatst te zijn en dat deze zou worden meegenomen door de V100 van Captrain welke ook onderhoud had gehad bij Volker Rail.
Omdat dat transport dan weer had moeten wachten totdat ik op het station was maar besloten om samen te gaan zodat de unieke combinatie ontstond met een RRF V100, Captrain V100 en de HSL 1304.
Bij de 1304 is de vastgelopen motor uitgebouwd en de loc is weer rolvaardig. Gewerkt wordt nu aan een herstelplan voor de locomotief.
Even een fotostopje en controle van de 1300 die lang had stilgestaan!
