Here's a screenshot of my current desktop.

The original image is that of the character Dave Bowman inside the central core of the HAL9000 computer, from the sci-fi classic “2001: A Space Odyssey”.

Following is a series of screenshots I’ve taken in sequence of how I recreated a recursive like effect on the cube faces of my current XGL & Beryl desktop.

Halle Duewag MGT6D

Irish band Hal played a secret gig earlier tonight at The Harbour Bar in Bray, Co Wicklow. 'Intimate' is the word I'm looking for.

Their second album is out next month and sounds impressive.

Groot werk uit de late periode van de meester. De buitengewoon schetsmatige schilderstijl, die in de hand tot het oplossen van de vorm reikt, staat in contrast met een strikte formele structuur, waarin de driehoekige structuur van de arm in de centrale as en de evenwijdige diagonalen van hoed en arm zijn geobserveerd worden. In tegenstelling tot wat vaak wordt gedacht, is het onwaarschijnlijk dat het portret een van Hals' laatste werken is. De veronderstelde creatie tussen 1660 en de dood van de schilder moet worden teruggebracht tot rond 1660, aangezien de zekere virtuositeit van de penseelvoering is ontleend aan de groepsportretten van de hoofden van het oude mannenhuis in Haarlem, waarschijnlijk gemaakt in 1664.
