Hackney WickED Art Festival Official Photography including artist studios

Hackney Wick, London E9, is a run-down industrial area on the borders of the London Boroughs of Hackney,Tower Hamlets and Newham; which was once little-known outside the immediate vicinity and rarely visited by outsiders. However it lies just a stone's throw from the Olympic Park and now being revitalised by artists and creative enterprises.

Looking south along the Lee Navigation at Hackney Wick, towards the Olympic Park.

These were my favourite white winklepickers.

My maternal grandparents. They were married in 1908; I believe this photo was done about that time.

This lower-rise part of the New Kingshold Estate has also now been demolished and has been replaced by much blander looking housing. This picture was taken in the 1990s but not sure exactly when.
