The Guy Big J (‘Big Jaguar’) was aptly named as a product of Guy Motors after its acquisition by Jaguar Cars in 1961. Designed around a new Cummins V6 engine, which was intended for motorway operation (but not entirely successful and ultimately joined by other options), the Big J featured a Motor Panels cab shared by Seddon. It was popular with operators such as British Road Services sand the 32 ton model became the most popular 32 ton tractor unit in the United Kingdom. Through a series of further mergers, Guy became part of the British Leyland Motor Corporation in 1968, in which the Big J represented unwelcome addition to an already over-inflated product range. Despite continuing customer demand, like the Bristol RE bus, it was phased-out by 1978 in favour of home-grown Leyland products. I haven’t seen a Big J in WH Malcolm livery so this digitally-created version is a fictional offering. The non-standard bumper was a feature of the Maltese original on which it is based (10-Oct-14).

1947 Guy Arab III with bodywork by Northern Coachbuilders, Blackburn Corporation fleet number 74. Sold to Grahams of Paisley circa 1960 and owes its survival to being retained as a service vehicle by Grahams long after their other Guy Arabs had been scrapped. Now privately preserved, restored to original livery and seen here outside in the sunshine for a wash

Back Story ...............
Last few days have been very chaotic so no uploads.
Photos seem to take hours if not a complete day to
upload. Not sure if you all are have this issue or if it
is just on my end ?
Anyway this morning Mama, Mr Rooster and Mr B were
all waiting upon my arrival.
Fed them and then took off through The DMZ on my way
to the big drum.
And by surprise guess who finally showed up ?
Not only did Tuff Guy show up but Leroy was there too.
Girl Friend is feeling better but a long way from being
fully recovered.
Both Leroy and Mr Tuff Guy are thin due to running away
into the jungle and getting no food !
A bunch of tourist showed up as did a big bunch of monkeys.
Headed back over to The Dog Palace with slow Mr B in tow .
Spent the rest of the time helping Mama chase primates off
the roof ..... ;-)
