Eangabackens Agricultural Museum is a living record in the years from 1800 to 1950. Demonstrations of old-fashioned rural household crafts with kitchen utensils, milk separators, looms, line-dressing etc. Also on show are, still in good working order, tractor, engines, threshing machines, harvesters, old mopeds etc.

I stumbled on workers assembling a tower crane at Robson and Granville Streets. Happily, I passed by just as they were starting to raise a new segment to the tower. Unhappily, I only had time to stay for this one segment.

Here the crew is guiding the new segment (being lowered by the helper crane) into place atop the previous one.

Saw it frist at bus-stop. In order to take more photos, I followed it for some while. This let me found a hiking track near-by.

After that, I have taken many interesting photos there, the magpie, the dragonfly, the white eye, the glasshopper....

Beauties are always around us, just not yet found. :)

Btw, also got a video of it.

Active Assignment Weekly Jan 3-Jan 10: Wheels

Assignment:

Wheels make the world go ‘round. For this assignment you are to capture the essence of this wonder of invention and seek out the wheels that make your world turn.

Restriction: To add some challenge, NO wheels that are intended to carry vehicles (cars, trucks, bikes, wagons, trains, etc.) are allowed.

WIT: hopefully this doesn't fall under the restriction, technically, these wheels guide. If these wheels don't turn, my world doesn't. Took this shot after work using my trusty 50mm 1.8 (great for night shots!). Edited in Gimp using a Lucis-like effect in Gimp called retinex, tweeked, and turned to b&w.

One of the horseback tours. This is at the south end of Cemetery Ridge, where is joins with Little Round Top. The guide was a storehouse of battlefield information.
