We drive from Alta to North Cape (NordKapp) in winter along snow covered roads and in a convoy until we reach the most northerly point in Europe. We then spend the evening in Honningsvag.
We start the day at our Hotel in Alta the Scandic Alta by having breakfast and checking the weather and road forecast for the day ahead.
We set out very early and drive towards the North Cape, the roads were covered in snow and we followed a snow plough for about an hour.
We finally arrived to the road to North Cape (Nordkapp) at 10:40 ready for the convoy at 11:00. In order to drive to the North Cape in winter you need to follow a convoy that departs twice per day, this is to ensure that it is safe and everyone arrives in one piece.
The North Cape is the most northernmost point in Europe and I have wanted to visit it for more than 20 years.
We had a good look around and it was quite windy, in fact the wind blew my camera tripod over breaking my camera lens.
Inside we toured the exhibits and got some lunch.
In total we spend a couple of hours here before driving back to Honningsvag.
At Honningsvag we checked into out hotel the Scandic Bryggen Honningsvag and walked around the town before getting some dinner.
We ended the day with a sauna at our hotel.

This locket is made of brass from many sources. The pieces are found objects brought together with new purpose. The cover is etched brass, it's handle a bee. Open it and you will find a puzzle. Gaze at it's wheels and it's arrow. Enjoy the sparkle of the tiny ruby attached at the right. (It was rescued from a discarded jeweled watchworks.) Let your mind figure where you want to go
My photo uses movement through the branches guiding your eye through the picture. My main goal for this two part project was to show something that is busy and your eye can't really focus on one true thing. My tree outside has lots branches and draping leaves that make it look very full. I tried several angles and different spots in the yard. I chose this because I thought it captured the tree well and didn't have too many distracting things around it. My goal was to show one side of my identity that the typical person who didn't know me would see. In reality we blend in and sometimes don't see the beauty of each and every individual. Something I think I did well was getting my thoughts across to be represented in the photo. Something I wish was different was the background because there are several houses in the way that I think take away from the picture.
