My sister with the guide dog statue outside the Floral Pavilion theatre.
New Brighton is where the first guide dogs were trained and the statue commemorates this.
She's a big fan of dogs (as you can tell). I guess this counts as portrait photography?
These guide poles stretch across the causeways to Lindisfarne, I think they were way markers! I'm back home after our holiday. This was my favourite shot from Day 1.

Jade and Shih-Han on Orchid Island... After the sunrise photo walk we visited the village of Dongqing. The villagers were dividing up the meat in the traditional way from a boar they had butchered so we stopped to watch for a while. Shortly thereafter we stopped at a village restaurant for breakfast.... I'm not usually too queasy about things like that, but somehow I chose the decidedly vegetarian Chinese pancakes for breakfast.... Later we walked up a hill near the village to check out the view. I took this shot of my A+ guides Jade and Shih-Han there.

This looks to be a day trip for a group of special needs ladies organised by the Girl guide leaders. It looks like a grand day was had by all!
Setting up for taking the holiday gift guide double spread. Obviously I edited out my feet for production but I left them here because I like them.

Yury was from Ukraine... and our tour guide of Vail and Denver. He was a very gracious host. I wouldn't want to drive on snow. Hey, I'm from the tropics :)

Buffalo District, Huntington District, and Regional Rivers Repair Fleet (R3F) personnel from fleets moored in Pittsburgh, Nashville and Louisville are working to improve the Black Rock Lock infrastructure and sustain its functionality for future navigation seasons.
I build a lot of project enclosures out of acrylic. I've gotten pretty accurate with cutting notches, and using t-slot joints. The problem with a t-slot joint however is that there are so many pieces to hold still at once. You have to hold the two pieces you are joining, the nut perfectly placed against the flats, and then the screw itself. And you'll probably have to swap out for a screwdriver at some point.
The result is that you often drop the pieces, the nut, the screw, or the whole dang thing, and spend the next several minutes hunting for small pieces on the ground.
To solve this problem, I designed a 3D printed corner guide. To use the guide, you place the two pieces of acrylic that you are joining into the provided slots. One you have them in place, you can turn the joint to an inverted "v" position, and place onto your working surface. The two pieces that form the joint will stay in place enough for you to place the nut and the screw.
Of course, your material doesn't have to be acrylic. This guide is sized for material 3.175mm (0.125") in thickness. It occurs to me now that I could also provide for other sizes in the same guide. I'll have to revisit the design next time I go to print it out. This will come in very handy for kids workshops.
