We stayed in a really quaint establishment outside of Crested Butte, called the pioneer guest cabins. They were a part of the first Ski Resort with a lift in colorado (1930's). Shared a boundary with the National Forest complete with a hammock by the river and plenty of rock climbing, cycling, and hiking right from the door of the cabin... perfect vacation...

This is one exposure (RAW) processed into three different exposures... Not really my thing, but Ithough I would give it a go... I think I had like 25 layers in this one (which is a ton for me).... the trees are a little blurry at the top from the wind and the stars I composited in from another picture I took of just sky, that evening... Anyway let me know what you think, I am not totally satisfied with it yet...
The winning photo for July/August was taken by © Daniela Nenkova.
Title: "Don't let years grow up your inner child!"
Description: The photo was taken in the city of Udaipur, India.
You can read joy and curiosity in the eyes of the little girl from the photo.
May each of us be with eyes open to the world and a happy smile like children.
Don't let years grow up your inner child!
About the photographer: "I am a dreamer and adventurer with wide open eyes, a creator of ideas and photographer by soul.
I love travelling and discovering new places, things and people.
I enjoy the little things in life as Antoine de Saint-Exupery says „It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye"
My motto is: Carpe diem! Seize the day, girls & boys. Make your lives extraordinary."

September guest photographer contest topic: demography and migration
Take part in our guest photographer contest, inspired by 2015 being the European Year for Development. From January until September we have been announcing different topics linked to development. Send us your photo inspired by the latest theme, along with the submission form and you could be invited to Strasbourg to do a photo reportage.
How to take part
You can submit your photo and entry form by email. This time your submission can contain either one picture or a reportage of up to five photos. The deadline for the last topic "Demography and Migration " is 30 September at midnight CET.
An editorial committee will select the ten best entries and then pick the best photo of the month. This will automatically make them a finalist for the jury prize. The ten best photos of each month are showcased on Parliament's Facebook and G+ page where you can vote for your favourite. At the end of the contest, the most liked photo will be awarded the public prize. Both of these photographers will be invited to the plenary session in November 2015.
The best photo for the July/August theme of children and youth was taken by Daniela Nenkova, a 35-year-old travel photographer from Bulgaria. The photo shows a small girl in the city of Udaipur, India.

I can imagine how many books they have to maintain. This house is one popular destination for tourists although access is not really that easy I think. Only the caretaker lives in the house most times of the year.

Our guest room is small but comfortable and right next to the main floor bathroom. I love that all you see is greenery when you look out the windows – it feels like a private garden retreat.
This room has turned out very nicely. It's the perfect place to put the furniture and artwork that Weds does not like! He's not to fond of my Japonica, so it's all in here.

Having extra volunteers on site also helped create a welcoming atmosphere during the early part of the season when there were fewer guests around. I'm sure these guests would soon have got a bit bored with only the company of Den and I.
