Floridsdorfer Wasserpark
The Floridsdorf Water Park is a small, park-like section of the Old Danube in Vienna's 21st district, Floridsdorf. It is a centre of attraction for many bird species, whether they live here permanently or just spend the winter.

Black-headed gulls are so called because they have black-brown heads in their summer plumage. In winter they have white heads with dark ear spots.

From Wikipedia:
Hardman is an unincorporated historic community in Morrow County, Oregon, United States on Oregon Route 207 north of Rock Creek. It is considered a ghost town.
The first settlers in the area were John F. Royse and his brother. Royse started a school in 1879 at a place called Dairyville, which locals referred to as "Rawdog". At the same time, David Hardman, who arrived in the county in 1878, started a settlement a mile to the southeast. A post office named Hardman was established there in 1881 with Hardman as postmaster. A mile to the northwest of Dairyville was the community of Adamsville, known to the locals as "Yallerdog". In 1882, the Hardman post office was moved to Dairyville but retained the Hardman name. Adamsville post office was established in 1884 and closed in 1885, and thereafter, all activity centered on what is now Hardman, where the post office ran intermittently until 1968. Locals called the place "Dogtown" after its two predecessors.
From me:
Hardman is a living ghost town. The few remaining residents of Hardman live amongst numerous structures like this one, their mobile homes squeezed in where they could find room. In a few cases, the old structures are actually inhabited. I have to wonder how the residents manage. It can't be easy. I suspect it never was.

Quoting from this news article:
As winter descends upon Varanasi, the Ganges River becomes a majestic haven for migratory birds from north and central Asia. The city witnesses a seasonal influx of species like the Siberian Crane and Ruddy Shelduck, turning the landscape into a winter wonderland that attracts bird enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The sailors of Ganga Ghat have emerged as the dedicated guardians of these avian visitors, playing a crucial role in protecting the birds and ensuring a harmonious coexistence between nature and human activity along the sacred river. Their efforts contribute to the preservation of the unique atmosphere that has made Varanasi a cultural and spiritual hub. Adding to the allure, migratory birds have swarmed the city, enhancing its winter beauty. From November to December, species like the Siberian Crane and Ruddy Shelduck can be easily spotted around the Dashashwamedh Ghat, creating a breathtaking avian haven along the Ganges River.

This Small Tortoiseshell butterfly has been living in my house for the past 3 days and nights. The first day it was flying around me when I was outside and I said to my Mum that it was teasing me as I didn't have my camera, (I'm always on the look out for butterflies when I have my camera but hardly see any). Then it came into the house and into my bedroom then flew up the stairs. I followed it up and when it landed on a window I let it out. It came back in again and again I let it out. Then later on it came in again and I just said to my Mum that that's my wee Angel and it then flew to a wall were I have a hanging Cherub and it landed beside it and side-walked behind the Cherub. There it stayed all night and all the next morning. I again let it out only for it to fly back in again. It has stayed with us since. Just took this little picture of it on the windowsill with my wee compact. Does anybody know if this is unusual for a butterfly? Anytime I do find a butterfly in the garden to shoot it doesn't stay put for very long and if you disturb it in anyway with movement it flies away. I can put my finger right under it without touching it and it won't budge when it is sitting on a wall and take as many pictures as I want and it won't move. It is perfect and looks quite young (very small) and when it flies about it is very agile so definitely not dying or anything. Some people believe that they are messengers sent from loved ones above to let us know that they are still remembered and Loved etc. I have always believed this myself about Butterflies, Red Robbins and Feathers. I have a anniversary of a much loved sister coming up on the 30th July so my mind am wondering maybe if this wee butterfly is sent from her...I've never had a butterfly in the house before that wanted to stay. Any that have come in over the years (very few) always end up at a window and try to fly through the window, flutter non stop like a bird that flies in. This one isn't flapping about at all at the window when it lands on it. I will miss this wee butterfly when it eventually leaves as I know it must. It already feels like part of the family...lol
