We were out on a fishing trip. When we headed back to the car this little fellow was heading for the car as well. It went grumpy when it couldn't hitch a ride with us.

Just getting frustrated at my lack of technical ability. It makes me grumpy and think that I will never get any better.

He's a banded Gila monster (Heloderma suspectum cinctum) who you've met before. He's a native of Arizona and helps me teach my university amphibian and reptile workshops. You'd be grumpy too, if somebody woke you up to show everybody your tail! That naked strip on their tails helps them hang on to branches.
I noticed this little face looking at me from a shelf the other day. It's a palm tree date that dried out in the garage. It just looks to me as if it has a 'grumpy old man' face :)
