Cute "Grumpy Cat" squeeze stress toy, purchased at the Bryan LGH East gift shop.

After a day of riding and exploring to Oregon Butte, Andy and I rode back to camp and took the two remaining horses to water down to the springs... We past these two, Grumpy old men sitting out enjoying the sun and having a,"cold one."

When we were visiting at Picket Springs I looked up and saw the shadows and these two grumpy old men staring out over the horizon we comented that this looked like something right out of an old western. I,"captured" this image of them unknowingly from the saddle...They could be a couple of old outlaw bankers from the upcoming remake of, "True Grit" due out Christmas Day at a movie Theater near you..."Fill your Hands Pilgrim" These two varmits have been hanging out at Bear Wallow Springs about six miles up the way, just below Diamond Peak. At dawn on this cold blistery moning they were Pack'n meat down the mountain. I asked to make them famous...but they declined...See the big one glaring at me...I think he is about to, "Reach for it"...

The Tree Swallow (Tachycineta bicolor), is recognized by its metallic blue-green back and clean white underparts. These swallows are aerial insectivores commonly found in open habitats near water, such as marshes and fields, often nesting in cavities or birdhouses.

Hundreds of flowers were planted in memory of Lola :-)

This is one of the first to blossom.

She was far from grumpy, that was Jimmy!

OK! You saw me. You took my picture. Now GIVE me $5.00 and get the @#&% OUTTA HERE! I think this bird is a cockatoo, a grumpy cockatoo..

Come on little guy, smile for the camera!

Testing out some flash attachments and using Ashley cat as a model. I don't think she is liking it. Sony a7II, LA-EA3 A to E mount adapter and Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G lens. On camera flash with Gary Fongs LightSphere diffuser.

The light was pants lol.

He's inside, doesn't like that.

Waking up in the mornings is pretty hard for me. I'm always having a battle in my head when I wake up:

'You're up! Get up!'

'Oh just 5 more minutes!'

'Get up now or you're not going to make it to class.'

'Just a few more minutes!'

Food blog! I decided to make one after my boyfriend suggested it. Whenever I look through my food pictures, I start drooling *___* Oh I love me foodies.

One whole month down! WOOOO. 11 more months to go (:

No matter how many shots I took, he/she always looked grumpy

Ok - this one made me laugh. "Oh the indignity!" And was the ONLY one where the dog was properly positioned in the frame.

See comments for a slightly cheerier version.

(Tip: I taped a narrow plastic headband to the inside of the hat, so that it stays on their heads without needing the obnoxious piece of elastic.)

Don't be surprised if this basic idea shows up again in the next few days after I figure out what props I want to use with it.

Note: I bought the backdrop on heavy discount last year after Xmas was over.

Fleckli (specks) at Fasching in Spalt, Franconia (Bavaria)

Some background information:

The little town of Spalt, which looks back on more than 1.200 years of history, is a Franconian carnival stronghold. Every year on Fat Tuesday there’s a great carnival parade with many thousands of spectators – a lot of them costumed as well.

Fleckli are traditional characters, who can only be found at Fasching in Spalt. They’re part of the ancient customs and it is believed that they date back to the late 15th century. Their origins trace to the folkways of both exorcism and casting out the winter.

Their name arises out of their dresses, which are made from rough hessian and embroidered with red and black rhombic specks. On their heads they wear furious and wild-eyed male masks with furrows and moustaches, which are usually carved in dark limewood. Every mask is unique and also often transmitted from one generation to the next. But the fact that Fleckli are always male characters doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s always a man under the guise.

Most often Fleckli also carry birch-brooms with them. These birch-brooms serve the purpose to symbolically spank children, who tease the Fleckli with rhymes. One of these rhymes, which are usually quite filthy, can be translated in the following way: "Fleckla, Fleckla, you have dirt on your backside. Dirty skunk, rascal, you’ve lost your old trousers."

I feel this way sometimes.

Only a good friend when you have food. I only had a few pieces of bread and then he got grumpy and turned his back on me. Don't need friends like you so you had better head South before the stream freezes over.
