ギャラリー蚕室ではお着物（和装）関連の小物を制作する作家さんとのご縁がオープン以来ありました。
日常に着物から離れている店主にとっては、展示や企画においでになるお客さま方の「作家の手仕事」に対する理解の高さや、色合わせや柄の楽しみ方などファッションを超えたクリエイティブさに日々驚かされております。
今回は蚕室7年目に入り様々な素材の作家さんが作る帯留めやブローチが、お着物のお客様の手に渡りどのように楽しまれるのか？！蚕室に展示頂く様々な素材や表現の作家さんがた10名に参加いただき、一堂に展示販売いたします。
また八王子の坂本呉服店さんのご協力もあり、空間づくりもまた楽しみです。
蚕室がどのような着物空間になるのかぜひお楽しみにしてください。

I forgot to get the name of the artist who created this fabulous fiberglass sculpture. So sorry!
Its at the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond. Right off I 80/90 and Kennedy Avenue.
My one of a kind designed/ handmade spats over leather boots. Spats were created with many cardboard cereal boxes, cut into strips and woven. Closures are velcro. I wore these down the runway last November in a recycled fashion design show.
Currently on display at the "Trash To Treasure X" group show at the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond IN. -- around 25 miles SE of Chicago city limits.
There are many wonderful things shown with a wide variety of artist talents in this group show. Art and crafts are made from recycled / found materials.
An exhibition of original prints created by 10 Singapore-based artists.

The two little houses:-
Tea-bot is my contribution to This Little Teapot Exhibition. I discovered by turning the teapot upside down and placing the lid on the base it resembled a face with it's little nose and a remarkably asian looking hat. The teapot was painted to resemble a rusty boiler like body complete with rivets...adding a little steampunk influence. I liked the idea of fusing old and new, so the traditional japanese blossoms were added for contrast The addition of the symbol on his front was an influence from the Thunderbirds, it is simply a stylized no.7. The transmitter aerial was added and fitted neatly within the lid's little flue hole. The explosion is borrowed from other sculptures I have created, such as Roy's Fusion www.flickr.com/photos/theartoftez/3464404307/ and 19XX www.flickr.com/photos/theartoftez/sets/72157626100131898/ , and is a direct homage to the pop artist Lichtenstein and also draws from the Thunderbirds... "Tea-bots are Go!"

Before I Die I Want To...is collaborative Project by KS Rives and Nicole Kenney. It was inspired by a combination of factors: (1) the "death" of the Polaroid, (2) a passion to inspire people to think about and act upon what is truly important in their lives through this simple question and (3) a psychologist's tool called "safety contracts". KS and Nicole take portraits of individuals saying what they want to do before they die, getting them in the act of stating their desire. The subjects then write this desire in their own handwriting on the Polaroid. Visit beforeidieiwantto.org for more on this Polaroid series.
Over the last few days I've been putting the finishing touches to my piece for a group exhibition of alternative invites to the forthcoming royal wedding. It should be a great event with some great exhibitors such as Jesse Auerosalo, Melvin Galapon, Craig Ward, Village Green and Si Scott among others. The organisers assure us that there'll be "25 individual pieces, a wedding cake, an organ duo and brilliant bespoke bunting." Artwork will also be silent auctioned off for charities chosen by the respective artists.
