Am Morgen den Espresso fest im Griff haben.

Griffin was found near death in the Everglades in late July 2010. Chance would have it that he ended up in my home. He's a great dog! Weighing just 12 pounds, he's probably a Brussel's Griffon mix. We couldn't love him more.

Please consider rescues first.

Friday morning a bulldog dressed as a rainbow fish walked into a library full of woodchucks. Imaginations were running wild at Greenwood Elementary School as Drake University's Associate Director of Marketing, Erin Bell, and Griff read The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister to a group of young learners in the library. Greenwood was just one of the eight DMPS elementary schools on the visiting list for the bulldog tour. After the reading, each student had a chance to pet Griff on the way to their next class.

Tricky lighting conditions but......

"Good boy Griff"

A triangle of dogs - all waiting expectantly for one of the tiny treats I had in my hand. Nobody wanted to hold their stays very long but at least I got one shot :) Griff (left) and Duke (right) belong to my best friend, Natalie, (you can see more of her dogs here). Today was the 1st time the dogs had met and as you can see everyone was very good - better than I think either of us sceptical humans had anticipated. Natalie lives near to my aunt's and we both see quite a bit of the other's dog(s) but we've haven't introduced them before because we were wary of how they'd get on. Trouble is, neither Barney, or Griff and Duke have been castrated... Griff and Barn can be a bit dominant with other entire males, while Duke gets intimidated easily. We didn't want a) fighting between the older two males, or b) Barney beating Duke up and making him more frightened of bigger dogs!!

However, we'd like to take all three out for walks together, so this afternoon we made the introductions! It all went very smoothly. We walked them next to each other on the lead first, not allowing them to face each other head on and then let them off once all three seemed OK. We kept a sharp eye on them, were quite strict to start with and apart from a tiny bit of growling from Barney (after Griff tried to hump him!!), everyone was fine. Natalie and I made it clear we wouldn't stand for humping, posturing of any kind, or retaliating and both dogs preceded to pretty much ignore one another, save for the odd side-long glance and the fact Griff had to mark where ever Barney did!! Duke gained confidence once he realised Barney wasn't out to squish him and while Barn wouldn't be drawn into a game, they got on quite well as running buddies.

Things went so well we were out for nearly 2 hours and even managed to play fetch (only stopping when Duke got way too over excited and ended up just running around like a loony, squeaking his head off!!). The fact we could play fetch at all impressed me as all three dogs value toys highly, which could obviously have the potential to cause problems - however I suppose as we had 3 balls in play much of the time, there wasn't masses of competition!! I'm so pleased there were no arguments and everyone had a nice time. It was good to see Barn out with other dogs - despite seeming to pay little attention to his fellow canines, he does gain confidence if he's out in a group & found it easier to cope with being in a new place today, than he often would. Looking forward to going out for more walks with all three of them in the future!!

Fishing boats in Dong Hoi all bear the Vietnamese Red Star with pride.

The magnificent citadel in Hue has stood for many centuries and is still an awe-inspiring symbol reminding us of the once powerful empire.

As evening sets in on Ha Long Bay, boats prepare to spend the night on the sea, as the peaceful coves provide safety to anchor.

During a long day of motorbiking through the mountains approaching Da Nang, I stop to capture the beautiful view.

First recorded in 1257, the water corn mill was abandoned at the outbreak of the Second World War. Its last occupants being Annie and Jim Peacock, known locally as Mr and Mrs Griff. A cloud burst in 1947 washed away the roadway which covered the beck and in 1949 the roof was removed.

Griff's playgroup turned out in full force: 14 kids.

The cake was tasty, strawberry with peach custard. I'm amazed Griff didn't smash it. Definitely risky letting him stand so close to it like that.

Grace didn't put pants on Griff because she "likes to see his cute little butt." Griff is already semi potty trained at home most of the time, with only the occasional mistake.

After spot one was demolished we made our way to the "Sagona" ledge but found the found we this dirty down ledge next that really got a good session going on it but before we left Griff said something about a back UFO and being the trend twat I am I got him to bash one out.

winner of 2004's Restoration on the BBC, as presented by Griff Rhys Jones. The modern new bit, built during restoration.

The Saracen's Head is the name usually given to a group of late medieval buildings in Kings Norton, Birmingham. The buildings along with the Old Grammar School won the BBC Restoration series in 2004. Following the restoration project, the Old Grammar School, Saint Nicholas Church and the Tudor Merchant's House (formerlt the Saracen's Head) were given the collective name Saint Nicholas Place.

The building dates from the 15th century. The oldest part, the Tudor Merchant's House dates from 1492. It was built by a wealthy merchant, Humphrey Rotsey and is now know as the north range. The building was expanded in the early 1500's, with a range of buildings facing The Green in about 1510 (now known as the east range).

The Tudor Merchant's House is Grade II* listed and is owned by Kings Norton Parish Church. They were unable to restore it properly until they won BBC Restoration.

In 1643 Queen Henrietta Maria of France may have stayed here. By the 18th century, the east range had been covnverted into a public house called the Saracen's Head and it had been remodelled. In the 19th century a further wing, the south range was added. By the 20th century the Saracen's Head was owned by Mitchells & Butlers, who also owned the Bull's Head next door. The north range was used a residence with a shop. In 1930 Mitchell & Butlers donated the Saracen's Head to Kings Norton Parish Church, for use as a Parish Hall.

Late C15 altered and added to. Timber-framed; tiled roof. Two storeys; 3 bays, the outer 2 both advanced and projecting behind either side of an internal courtyard. The bay on the right is the solar wing of the original hall house. It has recently been restored and has close-set studding with plaster infill. Its gabled upper storey is jettied on a moulded wood bressumer. The centre bay has been encased in brick and has on the ground floor a passage through into the courtyard behind, 2 doors and 2 bay windows, all except the smaller of the 2 windows within early C19 Gothic frieze. Over the bay windows tripartite casements. The left-hand bay was rebuilt in the C19 and has another bay window with Gothic frieze and, at first floor level, a single segment-headed casement window.
