Over part of Hutton Hall farm towards Barningham barely visible through the falling snow in the distance. A break in a very stormy looking winter sky creates a sunny interval in the middle distance, while the last of a heavy snow shower falls in the foreground.

a look over the wauchope valley. from the meikleholm hill, towards the becks, warbla, (warb law hill) and the bloch, on a rare bright and warm, summers day. langholm, dumfriesshire, scotland.
Found our way to this deserted shoreline on the Island of Assateague. One of the strangest areas ever.
What you don't see is our finding of a rather large amount of dead and decaying creatures, some on the shoreline, some further inland; some looked unrecognizable even in pre-decay; like they were some kind of experiment.
There was also this giant satellite type dish and other industrial objects pointing skyward....Seriously....this was like nothing we ever saw and needless to say we didn't stay long. Creepy.

Despite the recent spell of sunny Scottish weather it was a grey day at Glenfinnan on Sunday, but still a beautiful and dramatic place.

Arla Burn and West Farms outside Middleton in Teesdale, Kirkcarrion on the horizon in the distance. Taken during a bright but cloudy interval, before the rain re-appeared.
A day of fleeting brightness and heavy squally showers creates excellent rainbow conditions. This one at Bowlees captured on an elderly Canon A720 IS pocket camera - not bad for an 8mp device that only does jpgs.

Snow covers the three highest points in the Pennines. From left to right, Great Dun Fell with the NATS radar dome on the summit (848 metres (2,782 ft)), Little Dun Fell (842m (2763ft)) and Cross Fell, the highest point in the Pennines at 893 metres (2930 feet). The Pennine Way long distance footpath crosses all three summits. A couple of fleeting patches of sunlight on Forest in Teesdale in the middle distance, including one on the High Force hotel.
