The theme from this year's trip to Yellowstone was definitely wolves. I encountered them on nine separate occasions. Eight of the sightings were within relatively close proximity. For wolves that is.
With this photo came the death of my Nikon D7000. That black band across the top right is apparently part of the shutter. :(

One of the Wheeling & Lake Erie's "gray ghosts" leads an eastbound train near Lodi, Ohio, on the Brewster Subdivision. We happened across this train by chance, hearing it on the radio while traveling to do something else somewhere else.

This mid-century gem could reportedly be managed quite a bit better, but it always looks spiffy from the outside! The restaurant--which travelers tend to praise--has interior details that echo the zigzag roofline.
Memorable excerpts from Google reviews:
"I had Benton water and it does not taste like Benton at all."
"I got ate up by bed bugs left welts in me worse place ever"
"Lobby smelled like old people."
Yellow, gray, and white fabrics for a wedding quilt for my daughter. I started collecting fabrics (stack on the right), and Elizabeth Hartman graciously gave us the beautiful stack on the left. I am so in love with this color palette!

I didn't get out chasing Warblers today so I thought I would post shots of a couple of other winged things I caught while on the hunt over the past few days. The Gray Comma above and the Saffron-winged Meadowhawk in the comment box are both lifers for me. I don't have a big Butterfly or Dragonfly portfolio, but I really like taking shots of them and catching a new species is always special.

Puerto Natales, Chile.
On the second day of our excursion we went by road into the Parque Nacional Torres del Paine.
Torres del Paine National Park is a national park encompassing mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers in southern Chilean Patagonia. The Cordillera del Paine is the centrepiece of the park. It lies in a transition area between the Magellanic subpolar forests and the Patagonian Steppes. The park is located 112 km (70 mi) north of Puerto Natales and 312 km (194 mi) north of Punta Arenas. The park borders Bernardo O'Higgins National Park to the west and the Los Glaciares National Park to the north in Argentine territory.
'Torres' means 'towers' in Spanish. 'Paine' means 'blue' in the native Tehuelche (Aonikenk) language. It was established as a National Park in 1959.
Gray Glacier is a mountain glacier located in the southern part of Severopatagonského ice fields in Chile. It lies west of the Cordillera del Paine mountains. The glacier runs into the lake of the same name. Glacier Gray is 28 km long, with a total area of around 270 km².
I had posted an image on Sept. 14, of a kitten I was babysitting. This is the same kitten. I was going back through the images I took and found this one I loved as well.
Animals do some of the oddest things around me. I swear he is sticking his tongue out at the audience.
