a portrait i really enjoyed completing.
i have repeatedly told my students that one simply 'must' do at least one graphite drawing per year - just to keep your hand in.........
Gate to abandoned graphite mine "Josef I".
Lenght of tunnel was 102 m. Gate is ca. 1.5 m in diameter. From year 1879 to 1890 there was mined 3174 tons of highest quality graphite, most of it was exported to Great Britain.

Bored out of my box on a Sunday pigeon, to be precise! :)
Trying out my new tin of graphite pencils on cartridge.
I ended up cutting out several small places where the fiberglass hadn't wetted out properly & redid them. Now it has 2 layers of epoxy + 2 layers of fiberglass + 4 more layers of epoxy + 3 layers of epoxy with graphite mixed in.
I can't resist Madelinetosh yarn, something my husband clearly knows and used to his advantage when picking out colours for socks. This is Graphite, a dark gray-brown.
