Luftbild von den Blumenbeeten einer Gärtnerei an der Kronacher Straße in Bamberg

I was tempted to get a fancy, trendy 'Moleskine', but eventually decided against it. Old, proven 'mixed media' notebook from 'Canson' would do better, I guess.

Shooting a graphics card. One flash, card on brown-colored acrylic glass, underneath the glass: dark cloth (black velvet).

That's it. Btw.: Yes, I was too lazy to clone out the spacer ...

5-min-Photoshop fix: darkening the background (paint black color all around the card and the reflection), sharpening.

"escalate signature" & "pure royaL"

There is so, so much to like about this cover. One of my favorite details are the record covers in the lower left hand corner, one says "Jazz" and the other "Rock 'n' Roll." The book is racy in a softcore kind of way, not that I've read it, of course. The book was published in 1966 right here in Buffalo, New York. I started the Daily Book Graphics project with a set of similar covers.

This street Clichy Boulevard, and I'm mean 'ol the street is full of sex sellers, not exactly as stores but as shows. Anyway Le Moulin Rouge is by far the most important place at this emblematic parisian street. Indeed it is a symbol of the night's activities at Paris. A lot of tourist where in long lines to get inside, they had to pay more than 185 euros to enjoy the show... thats a lot above my budget (anyway I guess I'd not enter).

Hope you like this petite HDR...

I guess this is not one of my best, but anyway... here appears 3 shots at differents aperture at 15" speed. Then photomatix... then in photoshop a little Topaz Adjust, finally noiseware.

Inside cover of the book "Needlework" dated 1946. I love the graphics throughout the book.

From Jahrbücher 1912.

Beautiful pre Photoshop graphics. Read these at school 50 years ago. Absolutely packed with information and fantastic hand drawn graphics. Works of art in themselves. I picked up all 12 volumes of 12 magazines for £10.00 on eBay year or so ago. All in mint condition.

Description :

Fanush, paper made hot air balloon, was once the integral part of North Calcutta (Kolkata) “Babu” Culture. Today the art of Fanush making is a dying art as the new generation has shifted its attention into other sources of entertainment.

The Fanush operates in the same principle of a hot air balloon. The air inside the Fanush is heated by a cloth rag ball (locally called Nuti) soaked in spirit. The Nuti is attached to the base of the Fanush.
