Tourny Fountain was presented to the City of Québec by La Maison Simons as a gift for the city's 400th anniversary. The fountain is across from Québec's Parliament. It has 43 jets and beautiful nighttime lighting and is one of the city's must-see attractions.
I did not graduate from any academies. And I did not attend other master classes and photo courses.
Without being distracted by the technical routine of exposure rules and other laws of graphics, I simply saved my time doing everything on a whim and mood.
The main rule is no rules.
I just didn't know "how not to".
But one "rule" I still learned.
Photos without a “love story” are not worth the time spent on empty and correct photographs.
***
Recent rains revived the fungi in the grass.

'37 Ford coupe street rod at the 2019 Back to the Fifties car show.
I liked the graphics on this one but the hood and truck were open which I don't always mind but it didn't look right here...so I closed them.
Wow: a sports arena converted to church. 16,000 people in one room fixated by a single media environment.
By popular demand :here is my hardware/mods/ingame settings for ETS2 as of now.
Might lower the ingame brightness as I feel that the HDR is a bit strong on the white balance.
No Reshade/SweetFX.
FPS is good, not perfect but easy to play with (also due to heavy mods like ProMods, etc.)
Antialiasing is not perfect but I don't really care that much, to me it's OK for a game that age.
September, 1973. This photo was taken during the first class of the day, our Engineering Graphics class. The class subject matter seemed quite similar to the Drafting classes I took all through high school. It was one of those classes required for all of the engineering majors at the college. There’s a ‘drafting machine’ visible on the right margin of the photo, an upgrade from the t-square and triangles we had during high school. The instructor for that class was Dr. Chester Kyle, a renowned expert on human-powered vehicles and their aerodynamics.
It was the general practice at Long Beach State for professors to teach classes instead of having teaching assistants do that work.
I wish I could remember more about my classmate, the young man in the photo. I seem to recall that he was perhaps an Electrical Engineering major as I had only one other class together with him around 2 years later. What I do remember about him was that he was talkative and had a sense of humor.
He’s holding a pencil in his left hand, which reminds me of a story involving him. That one other class that we had together was Ethics in Engineering. It was another one of those classes required by all the engineering disciplines, so it was held at the noon hour in the Chemistry Lecture Hall which had a capacity of hundreds. It dealt with important topics and issues that an engineer might encounter as a practicing professional, perhaps also with difficult choices along the way. One day, the lecturer said something to the effect of, “...so these are lessons to keep in mind all through your engineering career that could last half of a century.” To this, my witty classmate above commented, “In half a century I’m not sure that I could even pick up a pencil!” :-)
A random banner thrown together while trying to follow a tutorial.
I sort-of just did my own thing after a certain point.
And the text. I don't even know. Rofl. I saw the stereo and typed in the random words.

Detail of an illustration from "The First Book of Snakes," by John Hoke, with illustrations by Paul Wenck. Franklin Watts, Inc., NY, Revised edition, first printing, 1952, 1956.
I have several "first book" textbook, and many times they contain bland illustrations and lackluster text. But this one was true find--the gorgeous line drawings and unique snakeskin endpapers caught my eye.
This illustration was cropped from a page explaining the mythological importance of snakes in world cultures.

First Manchester Scania L94UA Solar Fusion 10017 (X401 CSG). When brand new, numbered 2201 and in Barbie Livery branded with the Gold service⭐ decals.
The one of a kind bendy, as it was the only Wright Solar Fusion within First Group. 10017 was first registered on 1 February 2001 with the fleet number (2201) and began operation on the 135 alongside 15 Volvo B10LA Wright Fusions.
She stayed loyal to Bury garage as well as the 135 (Bury - Manchester), with a few stints on the 471 (Rochdale - Bolton) of course. But... just like the B10LA's, 10017 would be transferred to Bolton depot whilst Bury got their hands on 18 brand new (2005) Scania OmniCity artics (N94UA's).
With 10017 now a Bolton bus, she would become a regular on the No. 8 which of course lead to her receiving Overground branding for that particular route. This would only last for three years, as by 2008 First Manchester would order Volvo B9TL Eclipse Gemini's which were branded for the 8 (Bolton - Manchester).
By 2009, all of the aging artics would be cascaded onto the 582 (Leigh - Bolton) after losing all of their previous route branding. Not long after this, all of the Volvo B10LA's would be withdrawn from service as they because less reliable. 10017 on the other hand was still proving to be quite the work horse. Therefore was given another chance and transferred back to Bury depot to join the Scania Omnicity artics on the 135.
Now back home in Bury, she would receive a few modifications, like the removal of the iconic half wheel skirts as well as the modified assault screen in the cab. By 2012, 10017 would lose the First Barbie livery in favour of the new Olympia colour scheme. This of course being First's new corporate identity at the time. First Manchester's Solar Fusion would go on to continue its reliable service until 6th December 2016 when she was involved in a collision with the central reservation at junction 19 on the M60. Due to the age of 10017 as well as it not being economically viable to repair, she was withdrawn from service ending the career of First Manchester's unique and rare bendy. Not long after she would have been stripped for parts, then scrapped. This was extremely unfortunate as this particular bus would have been the perfect candidate for preservation.
Fortunately, Ex Nottingham City Transport L94UA Wright Solar Fusion (FE02 AKV) 704 has been preserved which is great, considering that vehicle shares a similar spec to 10017. Although it isn't really the same as that old-school First bus charm!
