Great bird! Acceptable light. Terrible perch. I guess 1.5 out of 3 is okay. Spot-lighted along a fence line, Gallon Jug Farm, Belize.

This is a "bold jumping spider" (Phidippus audax). It's a big black fur covered spider with bright metallic green, iridescent chelicerae. This one was hanging out near all the seedlings in the kitchen. I relocated him to the big lemon tree plant to see if he'd eat some of the tiny flies that have started showing up in its soil. He just hopped away.

I'm not a big fan of Halloween and being Swedish it's not really a tradition that I grow up with but a pair of tealight holders helped me get a photo for this challenge.
This picture is for the group Happy Caturday and this week the theme is "Catphabet".
E is for Elijah and... Eyes (the little googly ring eyes for Halloween) and Embroidery.
My husband is an artist and a graphic designer. Sometimes I have him sew out an extra patch like this one that he did for the Nashville Kats, an arena football team that was located here in Nashville, Tennessee. I believe that the patches like this one was sewn onto each players uniform in the late 90's. I remember he had to bring all of the jerseys home for something and I decided to try one on. It was so funny because it was so huge that it looked like I was wearing a dress... it went past my knees!! Some of the players were big guys!
Arena Football is different than the NFL (National Football League). Other than it being played inside in an arena I'm unsure how different the rules are. The Nashville Kats are no longer around although I read that they are trying to bring them back.
I also had found the big letter E in my craft cabinet (It goes to the word "Noel").

I found this jumping spider running across this dusty glass surface. He paused a moment to allow me a few shots.
(Too bad about the dust, but I wasn't sure I would have been able to catch him, clean the glass, and get him to pose again.)

Usually, my shots are planned well in advance. I have a google map with all the spots I intend to visit on each trip, with notes saved for what angle to get, which gear to use, what time of day, and maybe an example image from another photographer.
This picture wasn't planned. I just saw the googly eyes and was like "quick give me your camera mine's in my bag." The googly eyes and the train were just too perfect. Pareidolia anyone?
One of the many hidden wonders in my neighborhood and city, this is up year round, attracting a variety of wild birds and googly-eyed ghosts.
June 22, 2025: Sunday, I was in Castle Rock, Colorado, visiting my daughter and granddaughter. After purchasing some fruit and vegetables at the local farmers market, we proceeded to slice and dice the food. My 3-year-old granddaughter loved the next part - add googly eyes.
today we celebrated Chinese new year at school by making these rather friendly rats complete with googly eyes, result.
There's nothing like a good pair of not-so-randomly-placed googly eyes on a reproduction of French sculpture...at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel/Casino...(iPhone5s)
it will leave you googly eyed!

I have decided to give my photos a little breathing space and to post my 365 images to my blog on a regular basis. I'm hoping to be able to give them a little more space and be able to give more details about their processing, lighting and what not :) catherinemacbride.blogspot.ie/2013/05/a-little-breathing-...

Just a few more shots to come from a recent trip to Lincolnshire during which we stayed at the amazing Mannakin Hall near Grantham. We hired their Airstream camper van and then next morning went for a wander with our cameras.
As you're wandering around you find scenes like this which can't help but put a smile on your face.

From www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c2e7gwpz084o , "A sea of body parts is an unusual sight to behold. Legs, heads, the odd foot, as far as the eye can see. For Roz Edwards, it's just another day working inside what some would consider their worst nightmare - a mannequin emporium.
“Apparently, you can see it from space,” says Roz, gesturing to the gargantuan mound of plastic body parts in an array of colours.
Strewn in piles behind her, the figures are eerily human-like, and standing in front them, she appears as their leader, unwaveringly smiling. “I always say I was abducted by mannequins,” she laughs. Roz loans out mannequins and some of her 15,000-strong "family" have even flirted with fame, featuring in a music video with Mika and at Glastonbury with Lady Gaga.
But for the most part, they live at Mannakin Hall - a disused RAF station in Fulbeck, near Grantham, where Roz has been running her business for 17 years."
