This week, I said goodbye to some old friends: Canon FTb & Yashica Electro GSN. Great cameras that I was fortunate enough to find in wonderful condition and which served me well. If you have never shot with these film cameras find one if you can and enjoy the shooting experience.
Why sell some great cameras? First, they both just didn't fit well in my hands. They're larger cameras and I don't have large hands. And secondly, I had a couple of people give me their film cameras for free. In the last 3 months I got a hand-me-down Nikon FM2, in great condition, and a Canonet QL17 GIII with a stuck shutter. Both cameras fit better in my hands than the two I sold this week.
If anyone knows any shops that can do a cheap but good repair on a Canonet QL17 GIII, let me know.
Did you see the frightened ones
Did you hear the falling bombs
The flames are all long gone
But the pain lingers on

"Goodbye My Lover"
Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?
'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,
Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won.
So I took what's mine by eternal right.
Took your soul out into the night.
It may be over but it won't stop there,
I am here for you if you'd only care.
You touched my heart you touched my soul.
You changed my life and all my goals.
And love is blind and that I knew when,
My heart was blinded by you.
I've kissed your lips and held your hand.
Shared your dreams and shared your bed.
I know you well, I know your smell.
I've been addicted to you.
[x2]
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.
I am a dreamer and when i wake,
You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take.
And as you move on, remember me,
Remember us and all we used to be
I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile.
I've watched you sleeping for a while.
I'd be the father of your child.
I'd spend a lifetime with you.
I know your fears and you know mine.
We've had our doubts but now we're fine,
And I love you, I swear that's true.
I cannot live without you.
[x2]
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.
And I still hold your hand in mine.
In mine when I'm asleep.
And I will bare my soul in time,
When I'm kneeling at your feet.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.
I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.
I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.
True love doesn't have a happy ending, because true love never ends. Letting go is one way of saying I love you
To the one i love most and more, Goodbye,,,,

So this English year is about to end in a couple of hours. Remembering a speech from Tony Blair i like to quote his words "10 years on our advantage is time and our disadvantage is time .Time give us experience and our capacity to lead is greater. Time gives the people fatigue their willingness to be lead is less but they will loose faith on us only if we loose faith on our selves".
Let's not loose faith on ourselves and let be the next year the success for all the failures we had in 2011... GoodBye 2011

Perhaps the best-known of Fortunino Matania's war-time paintings, 'Goodbye, Old Man' depicts a soldier bidding farewell to his mortally wounded horse. It was commissioned by the Blue Cross Fund, a charity established for the benefit of horses wounded in war. During the course of the war the Blue Cross attended to some 50,000 injured horses. It is estimated that the British Army used 1.2 million horses and mules during the war of which a staggering 484,000 were killed. Reproductions of Matania's painting were sold throughout the war to raise funds for the cause. The original still hangs in the charity's animal hospital in London.

Hello all, I received a notification from flickr today saying that anyone with over 1,000 photos will, starting tomorrow, no longer be able to upload photos without paying for a pro account. Unfortunately, I’m not willing to put out that money and am saying goodbye to flickr for now. In recent years I haven’t posted many photos, but that’s largely because I haven’t been able to get out as much as I used to. I still love to see other people’s work and use flickr as a means to show others mine.
As crazy as it may sound, I have flickr to thank for meeting some incredible lifelong friends and I’ll always remember this platform for that. I want to thank everyone for their kind comments over the years and also for sharing your own photos, it’s been real!
I’ll be looking into an alternative platform to share my best work, but for now check in on my eBird profile if you’re interested:

Cheers!

Hi everyone...I'll be signing off from flickr for a while.... there are really loads of work that needed to be done.
and aside from that... I feel a need to get better on my photography... will take this chance to improve myself.
Thank you so much for all your time and appreciation... I'll be always grateful!
See you again later, my Dear Friends!!!!
Our cat Heliwr has just made her last trip to the vets. She had stopped eating, was barely drinking, and the veterinary opinion was that most of the things that could be causing it (those which hadn't already been ruled out) were terminal and untreatable. We made the decision that all responsible pet carers have to make, to prevent her suffering anything. To the end she was bright, placid and affectionate, and has left us all with happy memories.
All the same, I'm still tearing up typing this.
Goodbye Heliwr old friend. Thank you for 16 wonderful years.
Goodbye to Boston, I have moved on to Pennsylvania. Thank you to all the wonderful Boston photographers I met along the way. Keep up the beautiful work!

This is a little preview of my new set that I'll be uploading sometime soon.
I'm sorry, I haven't posted a photograph on flickr in a long time. Or looked through everyones photographs. I've moved to France and have been traveling for months covering over 50,000 km's by car, train, bus or our foot, whatever was the cheapest and sometimes most expensive. I've written all about my experiences in my daily blogs that you can see by visiting my website (link in my profile) You can also see some photos in there if the section is open.
I've covered over 17 countries since getting to Bordeaux in July. Some of these countries include: Switzerland, Iceland, the entire U.K. from top to bottom side to side. Ireland and even the Faroe Islands. To some favorites like exploring Amsterdam, twice and visiting nearly every corner of Germany.
but...
Before posting some of my over 10,000 photos, ha ha...
I want to say goodbye to Toronto.
So the next series I'm gonna post is called "Goodbye Toronto" and you can watch the light disappear, twice.
Enjoy and thanks for taking the time to read and look at my photos.
Every comment is appreciated.
I used to listen to music all the time - especially when I played around with Photoshop a lot. Then I started using Photoshop less and less, and as a result, I eventually stopped listening to music on my computer. Even so, I used to listen to it while I walked, on my MP3 player, but now I am using a new handbag, and it is not designed so that I can carry and use an MP3 player comfortably.
At home, on the radio, I am always tuned to a talk channel - my beloved Radio 4.
So, it's goodbye to music for the time being... It went from being a waterfall in my life, to being just a trickle, and now there is nothing. I have friends for whom this would not be possible. Friends who would say that a life without music is not worth living.
Note: For this pic I used watercolour and a soluble graphite pencil - I had not used the latter before. What an unexpected pleasure....
Despite my sharp teeth and sharper tongue...despite how many peeps do not like me...I am just a big softie.

With the steam season for 2016 nearly at a close, THNSW's 3642 sits at Hornsby on 6S70 Santa Steam Shuttles, ready to head back down to Gordon on the North Shore with 4520 in tow.
This was not only a goodbye to the steam of year but to a dear friend, driver and volunteer Tim Gray whos loss his life in the days prior.
Thankfully he was not forgotten and remembered by many and thanks to the guys at the RTM they left this wonderful chalk message on 3642 and 4520 for him.

Seen here in late February, Coco will be leaving in the next couple of weeks for Cherry Brook Zoo in Saint John, New Brunswick. Together with her brother, Jack, Coco has been one of Toronto Zoo's most popular attractions for almost 2 years now. Saddened by Jack's departure and estranged now from her mother, Tatiana, it's time for Coco to venture down east and bring her beauty and talents - remember her inventions - to Maritimers. The departures of Coco and Jack signal the end of an era at Toronto Zoo.
