Alarm w Małopolsce. Dwukrotnie przez 3 minuty nadawane były sygnały dźwiękowe – pierwszy: ostrzegający o zagrożeniu, drugi: o jego odwołaniu.
Zagrożenie związane było z naruszeniem przestrzeni powietrznej przez samolot, który został uprowadzony przez terrorystów.
Na szczęście – choć sygnały były nadawane rzeczywiście, to zdarzenie wywołane zostało na potrzeby ćwiczeń odbywających się pod kryptonimem RENEGADE.
To ogólnopolskie ćwiczenia prowadzone z wykorzystaniem systemów alarmowania ludności, odbywające się już od wielu lat, po to, by sprawdzićstopień przygotowania służb odpowiadających za bezpieczeństwo i podmiotów cywilnych do prowadzenia działań związanych z prowadzeniem akcji poszukiwawczo-ratowniczych oraz przeciwdziałania atakom terrorystycznym na terytorium Polski.
Częścią ćwiczeń jest prowadzona w wielu regionach Polski próba systemu powszechnego alarmowania i ostrzegania ludności przed zagrożeniami.
Zakres ćwiczenia obejmuje prowadzenie akcji w różnych warunkach i o różnej skali zagrożenia. Tegoroczne ćwiczenia prowadzone w Małopolsce zakładały reagowanie w sytuacji uprowadzenia cywilnego statku powietrznego, który narusza przestrzeń powietrzną. Celem działania służb było sprawne dotarcie do miejsca zdarzenia i doprowadzenie (przy pomocy dwóch wojskowych śmigłowców) do przymusowego lądowania uprowadzonego przez terrorystów samolotu a następnie obezwładnienie i zatrzymanie przez policyjnych antyterrorystów sprawców uprowadzenia. Rolą strażaków było natomiast zneutralizowanie szkodliwych substancji podłożonych przez terrorystów
Gotowość do reagowania ćwiczyły różne podmioty odpowiedzialne za bezpieczeństwo państwa. Także Policja – na miejscu akcji byli policjanci Samodzielnego Pododdziału Antyterrorystycznego Policji, funkcjonariusze Komendy Miejskiej Policji w Nowym Sączu oraz Komendy Wojewódzkiej Policji w Krakowie
Mały samolot cywilny typu Cesna 172 z niezidentyfikowanymi osobami na pokładzie naruszył rejon ograniczonego ruchu lotniczego nad obszarem woj. małopolskiego.
Dyżurny Stanowiska Kierowania Komendy Wojewódzkiej Policji w Krakowie otrzymał informacje, że nad obszarem województwa małopolskiego zlokalizowany został podejrzany samolot z niezidentyfikowanymi osobami na pokładzie, który naruszył rejon ograniczeń ruchu lotniczego. W tym przypadku występowało duże prawdopodobieństwo, że na pokładzie znajdują się podejrzane osoby oraz ładunki wybuchowe.
Samolot zostaje sprawnie przechwycony przez dwa wojskowe śmigłowce Sokół W-3, które zmuszają go do lądowania na lotnisku Aeroklubu Podhalańskiego w Łososinie Dolnej. W celu zabezpieczenia lotniska na miejsce natychmiast skierowane zostają patrole interwencyjne z Komendy Miejskiej Policji w Nowym Sączu, funkcjonariusze z Samodzielnego Pododdziału Antyterrorystycznego Policji w Krakowie w tym, policjanci Zespołu Minersko – Pirotechnicznego. Policjanci na miejsce docierają bardzo szybko, sprawnie zabezpieczają teren i ustawiają blokady na drodze krajowej k-75. W pełni przygotowani do działania oczekują na zakończenie akcji wojskowych śmigłowców, które fachowo sprowadzają uprowadzony samolot na ziemię.
Po wylądowaniu do działania przystępuje Samodzielny Pododdział Antyterrorystyczny Policji z Krakowa, który zatrzymuje czterech mężczyzn, którzy lecieli tym samolotem. Następnie policjanci z Zespołu Minersko Pirotechnicznego przy użyciu specjalistycznego sprzętu zabezpieczają ładunek wybuchowy znajdujący się na pokładzie. Do akcji wkraczają także strażacy z Państwowej Straży Pożarnej z Nowego Sącza, którzy neutralizują substancje chemiczną znajdującą się na pokładzie zmuszonego do lądowania samolotu .
W obliczu wyzwania jakim są zbliżające się Światowe Dniami Młodzieży, przeprowadzone ćwiczenia nabierają szczególnej wartości. Priorytetem dla Policji i pozostałych służb podczas tego szczególnego okresu jest zapewnienie zarówno pielgrzymom jak i okolicznym mieszkańcom bezpieczeństwa i reagowanie na każde potencjalne zagrożenie. Tym razem służby poprawiały skuteczność działania w razie wystąpienia zagrożenia potencjalnym zamachem terrorystycznym przy wykorzystaniu małego samolotu cywilnego.
W ćwiczeniach wzięło udział ponad 50 policjantów KWP w Krakowie i KMP w Nowym Sączu, którzy współpracowali z przedstawicielami Dowództwa Operacyjnego Rodzajów Sił Zbrojnych – Szefostwa Obrony Powietrznej oraz strażakami Komendy Miejskiej Państwowej Straży Pożarnej w Nowym Sączu.
Działania zostały zainicjowane w ramach zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa publicznego na terenie Małopolski w sytuacji wystąpienia aktów terroryzmu, a także doskonalenia umiejętności organizacji działań oraz efektywnego współdziałania wszystkich służb.
Technically we were all down at The Hyde Park Street Fair; however, the kids have officially gotten to the age where they'd rather go do their own things at events like this. So, the missus and I found beverages and wandered the booths. Was pretty awesome :)
Last week, upon my arrival back into the world of photography following a year or so hiatus, a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to grab a few shots of her Nissan 370z on Saturday. Of course I was in!
We didn't really have a set plan beyond meeting around 9:45am and heading out to a spot or two for a few quick grabs. So I go out to meet her and discover that it's HORRIBLE weather for photos. The sky is one solid, ugly gray. Everything has this muted, desaturated look, and there is a steady falling of mist and drizzle coming from above. Disappointed, I was. But, in the interest of fun and adventure, we pushed on.
We started out with only one spot in mind, which was out by Jonestown (I'm not allowed to give away the exact location), so following a quick pit stop for some drooling at Elite Motorsports, we headed out to the spot. We explored out there a bit, grabbed a few shots, then headed back to town, no real plan in mind.
Generally, I'm all about the adventure. I find that the search for a place to shoot is almost as fun as the shooting itself, so I'm completely down with driving to random places to see what we can find. Especially when I am getting some wheel-time in a car that is a blast to drive!
We ended up downtown at the Baylor Art Wall. Which, if you've never been, is a pretty cool place. Then we made a stop at the Bentley/Aston Martin/Lotus dealership, again, just to drool a bit. From there we took some shots at the McNeil Limestone Plant, which is always one of my favorite places (I have no explanation). Finally we grabbed a shot at The Oasis and down the street at Mansfield Dam.
All in all, we were out about 6 hours and had a lot of fun. Despite the horrible weather and my never having shot cars before, I managed to pull out a few images that I am happy with, so I would call it a success. We had planned on getting some rolling shots, but the other party ended up being unable to make it, so we had to forego those for now. The upside? We will just have to go do this again soon!

Reluctantly, we tore down the camp and packed up the boats for the paddle home. Our first kayak camping trip is complete and I can't wait to go do it again.

Ok about these banks. An example of how inconsistent pricing stuff at thrift stores can be. These two banks are exactly the same in all ways except ONE: color. TWO: Price. The orange one costs $2.99. The blue one costs $1.99. The green one I bought a while back was .99 cents. Not bad prices with some of the over. over pricing I have seen. But same thing same time two prices. Maybe someone likes the color orange better. Lol.

I couldn't really think of much to do for my photo today so I ended up basically continuing the theme of discussion on the comments of yesterday's 7 Days shot!

Today was weird.
It was almost kind of... bad.
But the thing is that I'm finding myself feeling okay with it.
This shot took a bazillion tries. And I was toying with different ideas as to how to pull this concept off. I'm going to upload some "outtakes" as well.
I was playing with the multi-exposure function in my K20D and they came out funky. Great concept in my head, but I wish I could have executed my ideas in a better way... I went around looking for tall flat surfaces I could use as a makeshift tripod, since I have no clue where ours is... And they just weren't great pictures in the end.
I'm tired and hungry.
I get much too distracted by everything around me [yay for ADHD... nahhhht!] and I don't stop what I'm doing to do the things that are actually kind of important [i.e. eating dinner].
So I'mma go do that now.

Last week, upon my arrival back into the world of photography following a year or so hiatus, a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to grab a few shots of her Nissan 370z on Saturday. Of course I was in!
We didn't really have a set plan beyond meeting around 9:45am and heading out to a spot or two for a few quick grabs. So I go out to meet her and discover that it's HORRIBLE weather for photos. The sky is one solid, ugly gray. Everything has this muted, desaturated look, and there is a steady falling of mist and drizzle coming from above. Disappointed, I was. But, in the interest of fun and adventure, we pushed on.
We started out with only one spot in mind, which was out by Jonestown (I'm not allowed to give away the exact location), so following a quick pit stop for some drooling at Elite Motorsports, we headed out to the spot. We explored out there a bit, grabbed a few shots, then headed back to town, no real plan in mind.
Generally, I'm all about the adventure. I find that the search for a place to shoot is almost as fun as the shooting itself, so I'm completely down with driving to random places to see what we can find. Especially when I am getting some wheel-time in a car that is a blast to drive!
We ended up downtown at the Baylor Art Wall. Which, if you've never been, is a pretty cool place. Then we made a stop at the Bentley/Aston Martin/Lotus dealership, again, just to drool a bit. From there we took some shots at the McNeil Limestone Plant, which is always one of my favorite places (I have no explanation). Finally we grabbed a shot at The Oasis and down the street at Mansfield Dam.
All in all, we were out about 6 hours and had a lot of fun. Despite the horrible weather and my never having shot cars before, I managed to pull out a few images that I am happy with, so I would call it a success. We had planned on getting some rolling shots, but the other party ended up being unable to make it, so we had to forego those for now. The upside? We will just have to go do this again soon!

Gary: Cool.
Brooke: It'd be nice if you help me.
Gary: No problem. I'll get them a little bit later. I'm just gonna hit the streets here for a little bit.(Playing video game)
Brooke: Gary, come on, i don't want to do them later. Let's just do them now. It'll take 15 minutes.
Gary: Honey, I am so exhausted. I just honestly want to relax for a little bit. If i could just sit here, let my food digest, and just try to enjoy the quiet for a little bit. And we will... you know, we can clean the dishes tomorrow.
Brooke: Gary, you know i don't like waking up to a dirty kitchen.(Getting tense)
Gary: Who cares?
Brooke: I care! Alright? I care! I busted my ass all day cleaning this house and then cooking that meal. And i worked today. And it would be nice if you said thank you and help me with the dishes.

Alarm w Małopolsce. Dwukrotnie przez 3 minuty nadawane były sygnały dźwiękowe – pierwszy: ostrzegający o zagrożeniu, drugi: o jego odwołaniu.
Zagrożenie związane było z naruszeniem przestrzeni powietrznej przez samolot, który został uprowadzony przez terrorystów.
Na szczęście – choć sygnały były nadawane rzeczywiście, to zdarzenie wywołane zostało na potrzeby ćwiczeń odbywających się pod kryptonimem RENEGADE.
To ogólnopolskie ćwiczenia prowadzone z wykorzystaniem systemów alarmowania ludności, odbywające się już od wielu lat, po to, by sprawdzićstopień przygotowania służb odpowiadających za bezpieczeństwo i podmiotów cywilnych do prowadzenia działań związanych z prowadzeniem akcji poszukiwawczo-ratowniczych oraz przeciwdziałania atakom terrorystycznym na terytorium Polski.
Częścią ćwiczeń jest prowadzona w wielu regionach Polski próba systemu powszechnego alarmowania i ostrzegania ludności przed zagrożeniami.
Zakres ćwiczenia obejmuje prowadzenie akcji w różnych warunkach i o różnej skali zagrożenia. Mały samolot cywilny typu Cesna 172 z niezidentyfikowanymi osobami na pokładzie naruszył rejon ograniczonego ruchu lotniczego nad obszarem woj. małopolskiego.
Dyżurny Stanowiska Kierowania Komendy Wojewódzkiej Policji w Krakowie otrzymał informacje, że nad obszarem województwa małopolskiego zlokalizowany został podejrzany samolot z niezidentyfikowanymi osobami na pokładzie, który naruszył rejon ograniczeń ruchu lotniczego. W tym przypadku występowało duże prawdopodobieństwo, że na pokładzie znajdują się podejrzane osoby oraz ładunki wybuchowe.
Samolot zostaje sprawnie przechwycony przez dwa wojskowe śmigłowce Sokół W-3, które zmuszają go do lądowania na lotnisku Aeroklubu Podhalańskiego w Łososinie Dolnej. W celu zabezpieczenia lotniska na miejsce natychmiast skierowane zostają patrole interwencyjne z Komendy Miejskiej Policji w Nowym Sączu, funkcjonariusze z Samodzielnego Pododdziału Antyterrorystycznego Policji w Krakowie w tym, policjanci Zespołu Minersko – Pirotechnicznego. Policjanci na miejsce docierają bardzo szybko, sprawnie zabezpieczają teren i ustawiają blokady na drodze krajowej k-75. W pełni przygotowani do działania oczekują na zakończenie akcji wojskowych śmigłowców, które fachowo sprowadzają uprowadzony samolot na ziemię.
Po wylądowaniu do działania przystępuje Samodzielny Pododdział Antyterrorystyczny Policji z Krakowa, który zatrzymuje czterech mężczyzn, którzy lecieli tym samolotem. Następnie policjanci z Zespołu Minersko Pirotechnicznego przy użyciu specjalistycznego sprzętu zabezpieczają ładunek wybuchowy znajdujący się na pokładzie. W obliczu wyzwania jakim są zbliżające się Światowe Dniami Młodzieży, przeprowadzone ćwiczenia nabierają szczególnej wartości. Priorytetem dla Policji i pozostałych służb podczas tego szczególnego okresu jest zapewnienie zarówno pielgrzymom jak i okolicznym mieszkańcom bezpieczeństwa i reagowanie na każde potencjalne zagrożenie. Tym razem służby poprawiały skuteczność działania w razie wystąpienia zagrożenia potencjalnym zamachem terrorystycznym przy wykorzystaniu małego samolotu cywilnego.
W ćwiczeniach wzięło udział ponad 50 policjantów KWP w Krakowie i KMP w Nowym Sączu, którzy współpracowali z przedstawicielami Dowództwa Operacyjnego Rodzajów Sił Zbrojnych – Szefostwa Obrony Powietrznej oraz strażakami Komendy Miejskiej Państwowej Straży Pożarnej w Nowym Sączu.
Działania zostały zainicjowane w ramach zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa publicznego na terenie Małopolski w sytuacji wystąpienia aktów terroryzmu, a także doskonalenia umiejętności organizacji działań oraz efektywnego współdziałania wszystkich służb.

A couple of things.
I hate submitting for contest, because well I never win, and that is not in my blood.
I only submitted this because of the judging panel, which is loaded.
Also, I know I said I was not going to do a lot of photos till I got my good camera back. Well I get bored and so I borrowed my old Sony back, and got to work. I'm saving my good stuff for my good camera though mind you.
The contest is supposed to be on earth and yadda yadda, but you all know me.
I'm in the business of critical thinking...
I'm in the business of not only going outside of the box, but making a whole new one...
I'm in the business of making you see things other then what you are used to seeing.
So I took a different route with how to show my respect for the earth in a picture.
This kind of photo is very versatile! I want you all to steal me idea, and go take your own photo with a globe and a you are here sign.
I am personally going to steal my own idea, and do it many many ways. If you do want to go do something like this, make sure you link me so I can see and we can all giggle together.

Every once in a while, being in the military has some cool perks
Today was one of those times
Today was the 3M Shootout at Pebble Beach and it was Military Day
Show your ID card and you get in free
Tickets were $60 so that was pretty cool
But that was just the start
I was talking to some of the course marshals before the start and asked if they had seen George Lopez
My daughter is a HIGE fan and I wanted to get her an autograph
They had not seen him and so we struck up a conversation while waiting
Eventually they had to go do some marshaling and I shot pictures as well as getting Huey Lewis's autograph (COOL!!!!!)
When George Lopez showed up I was in a bad position and couldnt get close (he was the most popular guy there and got mobbed)
So while I waited and took pictures of other folks one of the guys came back to where I was and asked "want to get closer?"
Would I!!!
He took me "inside the ropes" and I waited
Eventually George Lopez came up and I fumbled through "Mr. Lopez can I get an autograph?"
I think I just kinda whispered "Mr. Lopez...."
He signed and then handed me a small black box and said "this is something for you" and walked off
Inside the box was an official Super Bowl coin flip coin

Disney Wonder's top deck all lit up along with the coast and the moon rising in the distance. We decided to go do laundry so it would be darker out to get better pictures. We came back out at 3am and it was even lighter!!

The North Carolina Tar Heels, a power five program out of the Atlantic Coast Conference, dealt Old Dominion its first home defeat since November 2015. But in the loss, ODU gained a new starting quarterback.
True freshman Steven Williams, a graduate of Woodrow Wilson H.S. in Washington, D.C., replaced starting quarterback Jordan Hoy and backup QB Blake LaRussa in the 53-23 loss.
"When you don't have a first down in the first quarter and you have no energy on the sideline because the players feel it, you have to make the move," ODU head football coach Bobby Wilder explained. "I didn't go into this game thinking [Williams] would play."
Seeing his first action, the 17 year old Williams completed 9-of-20 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw an interception and lost a fumble. Williams added 34 rushing yards on seven attempts.
"We haven't developed an identity on offense," Wilder noted. "Stevie Williams today gave us an identity. Steven Williams is the quarterback of the Old Dominion football team moving forward."
"They just said 'let's go," Williams explained of how he learned he was about to receive his first college playing time. "My teammates were all behind me. I just had to go do my job and we'll be fine."
Old Dominion outscored North Carolina (1-2), 16-14, in the second half, after trailing the Tar Heels, 39-7, at the half.
Prior to the game, ODU learned All-Conference USA running back Ray Lawry, the program's all-time leading rusher, has a torn hamstring. Head coach Bobby Wilder reveals the injury could keep Lawry sidelined for the remainder of the season.
I had to go do house crap this morning, but we are moving just a few miles from my friends ranch so I stopped by for a visit. This is fred- he sat and showed off for no one (his hen his on eggs elsewhere in the yard) for a couple of hours. He is sooo full of himself! Definitely gorgeous and he knows it too!
Since this is the only chance I have had to shoot lately, you may have to deal with peacock photos for the next week or so if you are one of my contacts. Lots of cool macros though since last years chicks are hand tame and trained to be held!
Last week, upon my arrival back into the world of photography following a year or so hiatus, a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to grab a few shots of her Nissan 370z on Saturday. Of course I was in!
We didn't really have a set plan beyond meeting around 9:45am and heading out to a spot or two for a few quick grabs. So I go out to meet her and discover that it's HORRIBLE weather for photos. The sky is one solid, ugly gray. Everything has this muted, desaturated look, and there is a steady falling of mist and drizzle coming from above. Disappointed, I was. But, in the interest of fun and adventure, we pushed on.
We started out with only one spot in mind, which was out by Jonestown (I'm not allowed to give away the exact location), so following a quick pit stop for some drooling at Elite Motorsports, we headed out to the spot. We explored out there a bit, grabbed a few shots, then headed back to town, no real plan in mind.
Generally, I'm all about the adventure. I find that the search for a place to shoot is almost as fun as the shooting itself, so I'm completely down with driving to random places to see what we can find. Especially when I am getting some wheel-time in a car that is a blast to drive!
We ended up downtown at the Baylor Art Wall. Which, if you've never been, is a pretty cool place. Then we made a stop at the Bentley/Aston Martin/Lotus dealership, again, just to drool a bit. From there we took some shots at the McNeil Limestone Plant, which is always one of my favorite places (I have no explanation). Finally we grabbed a shot at The Oasis and down the street at Mansfield Dam.
All in all, we were out about 6 hours and had a lot of fun. Despite the horrible weather and my never having shot cars before, I managed to pull out a few images that I am happy with, so I would call it a success. We had planned on getting some rolling shots, but the other party ended up being unable to make it, so we had to forego those for now. The upside? We will just have to go do this again soon!

Time to go do battle with the attic insulation (blown-in fiberglass) so the contractor doesn't end up with a full layer on his head repairing the kitchen ceiling tomorrow morning.

The Second annual T4G Go Do! Football Classic - 2013, Toronto - was a battle that will not be forgotten any time soon, no matter how hard we try.

She is pregnant with Amanda, and probably not really having that much fun camping out and sweating outside all day. But I doubt that's why she had the look on her face. She never complained, and in fact she wouldn't have missed it for the world. I have recently come to believe that Amanda gets her "let's go DO something" attitude from Jo Ann - not me...
That came to my mind was to go do what I came here to do which was paint. Soooo I walk over the to the bando call my friend in the street and start my outline and filling in my first letter and then….. my paint clogs. That’s right I’m locked out my car far from home, and my one sole intention to paint is now gone as I don’t even have paint now. Honeslty a great night.
