My wife bought a pack of these Nescafe Azera "Coffee to go" last week based on an email she had received. After her purchase she entered a Nescafe competition and then a couple of days later, she was advised she had won a competition!!

Yesterday, 8 boxes arrived accompanied by a cheque for GBP300 ... how lucky was that! Of the 8 boxes 6 remain as my daughter and daughter-in-law dropped by with their "well-dones" and left with a box each!!

Shirakawa-go was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1995, it is famous for their traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses, some of which are more than 250 years old.

Gassho-zukuri means "constructed like hands in prayer", as the farmhouses' steep thatched roofs resemble the hands of Buddhist monks pressed together in prayer. The architectural style developed over many generations and is designed to withstand the large amounts of heavy snow that falls in the region during winter. The roofs, made without nails, provided a large attic space used for cultivating silkworms.
