Ok, so this might look like your child's latest arts & crafts project. But it's actually the Floor Cloth that I started last weekend in a No Sew Floor Cloth class at www.buttonboxquiltshop.com/
I started out thinking I would make a very traditional, quilt like design. Then I over heard a class participant say she was going to make a "freeform" Floor Cloth. That sounded like a great idea to me. It's still very much a work in progress. This is part of it, in it's current state.
My friend Mary, also took the class. Her floor quilt is much more conventional then mine. She used beautiful fabrics in the blue family. I think my next class should be in photography. I honestly feel that my skills are getting worse, not better.

This was Atley in June I believe, getting ready to go to the Asheville Dog show where she was reserve to the major. Very happy with my little dog and how she has progressed over the summer, just wish she would come fully back in to coat again. (ps, yes her feet were not fully trimmed in this picture, I wasn't done yet)
Leaving for a dog show tomorrow, so I don't know if I'll post again. But, in a week and a half, Levi, the champion red and white husky, is coming to stay with me for couple of weeks so I'll be spamming flickr.
I commented a lot but I'll try to comment more before I leave so if I didn't get to you I will. :)

Recently BLM hosted the Whid Isle and Inland Empire Brittany Clubs to run dogs on two different "courses" in what are called braces. The courses included Puppy, Derby, Gun Dog, and All-Age. The dogs ran on Goose Butte in the BLM’s Spokane District. This has been the site for field trials for three Brittany Clubs for more than a decade. The most recent trial included with competitors from Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, California and Canada!
John Henderson, a handler and judge for different braces said this BLM location is fantastic for the trials. "
First of all, it's centrally located for a lot of the club members and it's a great place to let the dogs loose. The folks here from southern California and the west side of Washington and Oregon don't have anything like this near them. These two courses are so big and it's chukar habitat so the birds we release feel at home," said Henderson.
Henderson said more than 500 birds were released over the three trials so the Brittanys could demonstrate their ability to find birds, point staunchly and remain steady to wing and shot. Most field trial dogs are handled from horseback because these patches of BLM land are too rough and expansive to cover on foot.
