Seemingly always power short, the CP would often lease GO Transit equipment for weekend freight service. Here a trio of GO power, lead by GO 702, returns to Toronto with train 916 at mile 80 on the CP's Windsor Sub.

This photo is inspired by a story.

An old woman living alone on a farm is pulling up weeds in her garden, when she hears a scream. One of the plants she is pulling up resembles a baby. The old woman took the child in to raise as her own, seeing as she always wanted a child, but the lord left her unfertile.

The plant child grew and grew and through the years turned into a young woman. The old woman knew she didn't have much time left on earth, and decided to tell the plant child the story of how she found her. The two decided it would be best for the girl to go back home underground, and for the plant child to seek out her real parents. That year, however, a horrible drought ravaged the countryside, and dried up the soil. The two knew that there would be no way the girl would survive under ground.

Food became scarce, and there was little chance of survival for either of them. One morning the girl woke up to find the old woman missing. She called out for her, but no answer. She was about to give up when she saw the old woman's dress out in the garden. She ran to her, calling her name, but received no reply. She found the woman with a smile on her face and a note in her hand.

"I am dead. Bury me in this garden. Let my body fertilize the soil. Go home to your family. I love you"

Are you ready?

I'm in the driver's seat now

Oh, oh

Hear me out, I'm sorry, but I'm a little less than sold

I've been around, heard all the stories you said you never told

You're used to speaking in tongues to feel like you're in control

Now you've got nowhere to run, now you've got nowhere to go

We found this Water Monitor Lizard chilling out in the deep shadows of some overhanging branches. It was a really hot, bright day, affording the opportunity to under-expose the image, but retaining enough light to minimise noise...

Aside:

I lived in Kitsilano, Vancouver, many years ago and many intersecting residential streets didn’t have stop signs OR yield signs OR caution signs OR any pavement markings. I was told by locals it was just understood that you were supposed to stop and look both ways before proceeding and the person on your right has (you guessed it) - the Right of Way. I met several people who had been In accidents at these intersections. Back then, the accident and insurance rates in BC were very high compared to Ontario; I don’t know how they compare today. They’ve since installed stop signs, pavement markings, and mini roundabouts in Kitsilano.
