I'm doing inktober right now with my own prompts, this one is "gluttony", and I was actually super pleased with how it turned out.

I was asked by my friends at LustReality Promotions to shoot some images to promote their 'Festival of Sins' - each night themed around one of the seven deadly sins. Here we have (from left side) gluttony, wrath, and lust together on the sofa.

Strobist Info: Canon 580EX flash on Manfrotto nano 001 stand to camera right approx 7ft high at 50mm zoom. Silver reflector laid out on table in front of sofa. Ambient tungsten lighting balanced with full CTO gel on flash and white balance set to incandescent. Camera set to expose at two stops below ambient and flash picked up the difference. Exposure set on manual prior to taking shots with partial spot metering using grey card.

High five for the weekend!
Last weekend's foray into San Francisco highlighted two bars and one restaurant.
First up, tapas at Coqueta. The grilled octopus was yummy. So was everything else. Washed down with white sangria.
Next, to Epic Steak because Waterbar was packed. Half bottle of premiere cru Chablis.
Then to TBD (now closed) for dinner and beverage pairing.
Frankly, I could have stayed at Coqueta and continued to eat everything on their menu.
I cannot properly express just how exhausted I am right now. I've been on the go all day, and most of that time was spent (willingly) chasing around my goddaughter. I snapped a couple of pictures this morning before leaving for my friend's baby shower just in case I didn't get time to take more later, and boy am I glad I did. Sorry this isn't a masterpiece. I'm just happy I got something on topic to finish off my Seven Deadly Sins series for this week's theme of the week.
Derived from the Latin gluttire, meaning to gulp down or swallow, gluttony (Latin, gula) is the over-indulgence and over-consumption of anything to the point of waste. In the Christian religions, it is considered a sin because of the excessive desire for food, or its withholding from the needy.
Depending on the culture, it can be seen as either a vice or a sign of status. Where food is relatively scarce, being able to eat well might be something to take pride in. But in an area where food is routinely plentiful, it may be considered a sign of self-control to resist the temptation to over-indulge. Medieval church leaders (e.g., Thomas Aquinas) took a more expansive view of gluttony, arguing that it could also include an obsessive anticipation of meals, and the constant eating of delicacies and excessively costly foods.

Quick little fun picture i did for an art assignment on the 7 deadly sins. that cake took me 2 days to make and 2 seconds to tear apart.i have icing all over the floor in my room and in my hair Monday night well spent.

I’ve been wanting to grumble about that for a while now, so thanks for indulging me XD Anyway, the rest of the updates I have from this store to share with you aren’t nearly as negative as that last one. In fact, they’re quite the opposite! We begin with this excess of clearance foodstuffs found on not one, not two, but *three* endcaps back on my March 3rd visit to the store. And this isn’t even all of it – there had been even more on a visit a week or two prior, I just didn’t think to get a photo at that time. What struck me here is that 1) usually there’s only one endcap of clearance food at a time, maybe two every once in a blue moon… and 2) a lot of this food was, curiously enough, not anything that this store normally carried (such as all those Mt. Olive pickles [of which there were at least double what you see here on that prior visit I mentioned!], or those croutons, or those Domino sugar boxes).
Personally, I never put two and two together here. But for my mom, it immediately clicked. I’ll tell you what’s up in the next pic, but I’ll leave this one spoiler-free so you can guess!

I shot this in a tiny little forest in my city and while I was posing an old homeless man who was picking mushrooms appeared. I was all like 'oh my I'm gonna die' but he turned out to be real nice and we ended up chatting about mushrooms and photography, and he even offered me to take a picture of one big mushroom he'd found!
Also, m boyfriend says this picture has nothing to do with gluttony. Mi original idea is that the girl is fighting against sin trying not to eat the apples, that is why she is curled up. I'd love to know if anyone sees my concept!
