Junto a @rafadiez78 y @fotomiguelortiz

24th May 2014, I went into the City of Sydney to view firsthand the spectacular VIVID SYDNEY 2014, a festival of light, music and ideas. This image is one of my long exposure photographs of the bright and colorful projections of light and patterns on the Sydney Opera House. These colorful projections were continuously changing making Sydney Harbour look like a piece of art.
Many of the ferries also had colorful lighting which just added to the bright and happy atmosphere created by this festival.
Coloring the city with creativity and inspiration, Vivid Sydney highlights include the hugely popular immersive light installations and projections; Vivid Aquatique immersive water theatre; performances from local and international musicians at Vivid LIVE at Sydney Opera House and the Vivid Ideas Exchange featuring public talks and debates from leading global creative thinkers.
The Sydney Opera House was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 28 June 2007. It is one of the 20th century's most distinctive buildings and one of the most famous performing arts centers in the world.
The Sydney Opera House is on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It sits at the north-eastern tip of the Sydney central business district (the CBD), surrounded on three sides by the harbour (Sydney Cove and Farm Cove) and inland by the Royal Botanic Gardens.

I took this shot for the Behind the Lens: Global Creative Photography Project. The theme for week 10 is Organic/Natural. To me this is almost as organic and natural as it gets. These little mushrooms are about an inch tall and were found growing out of a small nurse log on the forest floor of an old growth stand. Soon to be frozen and return to organic material themselves these little guys show the more fragile and incredibly intricate part of our natural world.
The theme this week for the the Behind the Lens - Global Creative Photography Project is cuisine!
A big thanks to Kristen for preparing the waffles and helping me set up the shot. Thanks to Evelyn for making the batter! They were so tasty!
Enjoy!

This is an East African land snail, photographed in Hawaii and now used for the Global Creative Photography Project's theme for this week: MACRO.
Before posing this shot I did a little research...
This East African land snail is known as one of the worst invasive species in the world. In recent times, the land snails have been kept as pets; however, they are now illegal to possess in many countries including the United States. Since arriving in Hawaii in 1936 from Japan this species has been a nuisance and a pest on many of the Hawaiian islands and numerous predators to the snail have been introduced to try and kill it off.
Apparently this strategy isn't working too well as this little guy was not alone where we found him at the Dole Plantation on Oahu.

A long exposure photograph taken by myself during the Vivid Sydney Festival 2015 from the old Pyrmont Bridge which is now a walk bridge from the heart of Sydney to Darling Harbour, a popular venue for tourists.
This image shows the Ferris Wheel alight and in motion and the pretty and illuminated buildings at Darling Harbour including the Novetel Hotel, which had light projections of various colors changing all the time.

Todays challenge in Our Daily Challenge is: Odd... well this certainly fits the bill.
There is a story to this shot though...sort of.
Some time ago, it was decided that there would be a "fish day" in the 365 Community Group. That day was going to be November 30. The idea behind the fish day was that there was these "Fortune Fish" that were mailed out to anyone who wanted one/some and that they were to take a shot of these fish and contribute them to the group all on the same day...November 30. I signed up for my fish and had decided that my shot of the fish would entail hanging them on a "clothesline" to mimic the old Maritime tradition of drying salt cod on a clothesline. I even found these tiny little clothespegs at a Dollar/craft store that are less than an inch long and very colorful. Unfortunately, my fish didn't get here in time to post a shot for November 30 but they did arrive the other day. So today, my shot with the fish and clothesline for the 365 Community and that all led to this....LOL! Talk about the long way around... This is from the thought of how far we have come from the days of hanging negatives on a clothesline (sort of) to dry...
So, after all that explanation, this very "story" also fits the topic of "odd"... LOL!!
Also added to Behind the Lens: Global Creative Photography Project: Out of Place
I included the fish shot below...
Another idea for a series is shaping up here... LOL!! 100 shots on a clothesline...hhmmm??

Last Monday I got up early before work and took a few photos around the city. This shot of the Lions Gate Bridge shows traffic coming in and out of the city center through Stanley Park.
Opening in 1938, the Lions Gate Bridge crosses the first narrows of Burrard Inlet and connects the City of Vancouver to the North Shore municipalities of the District of North Vancouver, the City of North Vancouver, and West Vancouver. The term "Lions Gate" reflects the Lions, a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver.
I took this shot for the Global Creative Photography Project. The theme this week is movement.

This dahlia is from a bulb I planted last spring. It sure took its sweet time coming to flower. This is the one and only flower it got on it this year and as winter was descending upon us rather quickly here, I thought I'd better get a shot of it before it was claimed by frost. It's a good thing I did because two days after I took this, frost hit hard and now its laying in a limp pile on the sundeck. I have to go out and dig the bulb out of the pot to keep it for next year... I took this shot for the Behind the Lens: Global Creative Photography Project: Week 10: Organic/Natural and the Weekly Photo Assignment: Red.

Tonight I returned home from a week away in the small town of Oliver. The drive through the Penticton area and Manning Park was a wintery wonderland. The drive was a little sketchy but boy was it stunningly beautiful. I was truly just struck by how beautiful it is in this little corner of the world and how blessed that I am to live here and be able to explore such a place.
This is a shot from the end of the summer taken on a solo hike up to Thurston peak and meadows. I talked for a while with this paraglider and then snapped a few shots as he literally walked into the air. Boy was I jealous - just thinking about the walk back to the car made me long for the ability to jump off the mountain like this guy.
This shot for the Global Creative Photography Project Theme of Sports. ... I guess I interpreted it as extreme sports. Hope that's ok Peter!

24th May 2014, I went into the City of Sydney to view firsthand the spectacular VIVID SYDNEY 2014, a festival of light, music and ideas.
I captured so many colorful long exposure images of the bright and colorful projections of light and patterns on the Sydney Opera House that I decided to make a rainbow collage of a few of them, as there were so many different colors.

Vivid Sydney 2015 (Photograph by Kaye Menner)
In June 2015, I went into the City of Sydney to view firsthand the spectacular VIVID SYDNEY, a festival of light, music and ideas. This image is one of my long exposure photographs of the bright and colorful projections of light and patterns onto the Museum of Contemporary Arts building. These colorful projections were continuously changing making this building a real piece of vivid art.
The Museum of Contemporary Arts (abbreviated MCA) in Sydney, Australia is an Australian museum solely dedicated to exhibiting, interpreting and collecting contemporary art, both from across Australia and around the world. It is housed in the Art Deco-style former Maritime Services Board Building on the western edge of Circular Quay. This area was the traditional lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
The museum was opened in 1991 and from 2010 underwent a $58 million expansion and re-development, fully reopening as the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia on 29 March 2012.
