Given the resurgent nationalism across multiple regions and the growing centrality of information technology in sowing seeds of distrust and violence, it is critical to rethink the role of public diplomacy in combating ideologies and narratives of adversarial state and non-state actors in current as well as emerging conflicts.
CPD hosted a panel discussion on March 8th that explored the challenges and strategies in countering violent extremism, public outreach efforts amidst military conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq, and in navigating information warfare in great-power confrontation.

Given that Independence didn't happen 'til 1922, Ireland was still part of the UK during WWI (although Home Rule was supposed to have happened, but had gotten pushed aside given the raging war and all.) I like that the woman in the poster is obviously playing on the question of masculinity, but is also, in an odd way, it seems to me, personifying Ireland (who is almost always personified female, an Aisling), which seems an odd choice given that this is a British posters and referencing a rallying point for independence would be dangerous.
This makes more sense in my head but it's late and I'm tired.

Given the perspective, I assumed they weren't in the obvious place (it *looks* like they're right on top of the Soldiers Field Park Garage.) Turns out that they really are, and a garage-top mount like this is unique (and involves steel supports that go down two floors.) This elegant toy dog breed is famed for the silky white hair covering his body. Straight and thick, the coat falls all the way to the floor. Many years ago, Maltese came in many colors, but these days they are always white. When a properly built Maltese moves, he seems to float beneath his cloud of white hair. Because he doesn't have an undercoat, the Maltese sheds little, and many people consider the breed to be hypoallergenic.
But the Maltese is more than his coat. Completing the picture is a slightly rounded skull, black nose, drop ears, dark, alert eyes, short, straight legs, and a graceful tail. He's a sweet, intelligent dog who is devoted to his people. And as one of the smallest of the toy breeds, he's well suited to apartment or condo living. Wherever he lives, the Maltese is responsive to his environment and makes an effective watchdog.

We got given an object and had to create either a poster, double page spread or leaflet.
I got given a sundial and poster. This is made out of paper and card all handmade. There are no computer elements on this poster.
Given Dale, a classic Yorkshire Wolds valley, pictured at its junction with Whitekeld Dale. The gated bridge in the foreground crosses Whitekeld Beck. As the presence of the cyclist indicates, the track through Given Dale is a public bridleway. It is also part of the 50-mile Minster Way long-distance footpath linking Beverley and York.

Didn't sound interesting, and only went because we got half price tickets, but it was surprisingly enjoyable. Didn't anticipate the plot twists, nor the ending. Four accomplished actors that we didn't know, but the audeince seemed to recognise from various TV roles. Lucy (daughter of Danny) DeVito, Leslie Hendrix (Medical Examiner on Law & Order), Kenny Morris (varoius roles) and Michael Mastro (Nurse Jackie).
I was given a couple of samples of Mackmyra whisky to take home today. I have never tried this whisky before. I understand the red bottle is the very first release from this distillery - a small cask which turned out 200 bottles. The blue bottle is the first vatting, i.e. the first main release. It is a privilege to try both, which were given to me by my friends Steve and Alexia. They fed us curry tonight, a lovely evening. I am going to wait to try the whiskies, because I have a bit of a blocked nose just now and I would not be able to taste them properly. But I will come back and add my tasting notes later.

CBC Apr 21 2024 - In a recent CBC interview, Liberal Treasury Board President Anita Anand has created inter generational friction when placing blame for the current housing crisis on her Governments overdoing of benefits given to Seniors and this unfair imbalance may have had an adverse affect on the Millennials and Gen X generations ? She also claims that the Seniors' generation had it better than this new generation ? Her Liberal Party plans to increase help for Millennials and Gen X apparently by cutting back on Seniors benefits ?
Due to restrictions, only 43% of all Seniors were able to receive the 10% OAS raise in old age pension ,, and so, 57% of Senior's received nothing ?

Name given to the pumpkin by my hubby, and then he bought him for me!! I am now the proud owner of a Franken-stem pumpkin!!! The stems circumference is 10 inches...WOW!
Days before New year day Guruji had given Darshans for Matajis and Prabhus separately and Guruji had given satsangs and talks encouraging us all to sing the divine names with Him.
For New years eve a livestream production had occurred here on site to give the internationally community an overview of activities worldwide, including the inauguration of the Sri Vitalla Dham ashram and the Paranitya temple which through Gurujis grace have manifested.
The new years celebrations began in the temple with euphoric Kirtan getting everyone on their feet. At midnight Guruji began the new year with offering Arati to the deities gracing us all with His presence. The night continued with fireworks and then to the tent with Premavahini, a band from Croatia, offering their heart in song, leading us into the new year with Harinaam.
New years day again was a spectacular morning where Guruji gave us the opportunity to witness abhishekam to His personal deities. He ended the festivities with a beautiful talk on the importance of being grateful. Not just for the year but everyday and wishing everyone not just a happy new year but Happy days and that we understand the importance of being grateful for every day that has been given to us by God.
