Taken at Joy, Alaska. This is the log cabin the homesteaders built for themselves off the grid north of Fairbanks.

I'm on a machine that doesn't give me access to my normal photo software. So, I thought I'd play with GIMP. This is a phone shot.

Another photo from the building of amazing art. Someone has a very nice style. I don't know now long this stuff has been up, as we don't live in this part of town and don't often visit. I think this is just wonderful.
An attempt to get a better HDR shot from misaligned images. 2 images, one blurred heavily, done twice (ie no1 blurred in GIMP, other left alone, both tonemapped in Photomatix, then repeated with no2 blurred, finally combined in GIMP using darken layer property.)
Picture from Claude Monet's garden today, run through the gimpressionism filter offered by the Gimp phone manipulation program.
Taken during our visit to Malta, a first for us. This is a fascinating port city, full of history.

I was thinking how cool it would be if I had a model for this shot... then it dawned on me: I have GIMP!
I reworked my Day 31 photo by adapting Kendra's Secret to The Gimp. In fact, I cheated by using these instructions.
A very striking look!
Using GIMP I selected an area of photograph P8010013 desaturated it and then used the optiverke labs virtual photographer filter to get this result.
