Soundtrack: V.A.C. - "malfunction"
- somehow a "brother-in-spirit" of this one: though (oh well...) I am at least knee-deep into technology of all sorts and kinds, somehow I wonder how it actually works - man controlling machine? This device (an office-building-sized coal excavator) is just, well, sort of a "mountain of steel", making you feel awfully small, pondering what might happen if machines like these actually get out of hands...
These are a few of my favourite things...

Heiligendamm is also called the "Weiße Stadt am Meer" or "White Town by the sea". It looked almost like a grey and lost place.
One of the pictures taken during a "crayfishing expedition". The lake is Stora Delsjön in Gothenburg. We didn't get too much crayfish, but I was happy anyway: The wheather was very HDR:ish :)

Taking a ride out in the country, I leaned my bicycle against the old screen of the drive-in theatre.

Over 100 masterpieces from the collections of Palais Galliera and Maison Balenciaga are stealing the show at Kunstmuseum Den Haag. This is the first time that such a large selection of Balenciaga's work has been shown in the Netherlands.
In a rare DIY success, I fixed our broken gas stove by replacing the igniter (about $25 from amazon). Getting to it involved first removing the flame plate, after which I immediately stopped work so that I could take photographs of its repeating rust pattern.
Sliding here involved the "accordion" and "pan-to-infinity" modules of the gimp-frastructure software, followed by a drop-shadow effect, and all of that preceded by some minor contrast adjustment and cloning out of unsightly dust specks. Frankly, fixing the stove was less effort (and a far more useful result).
