Ghost Bikes are small and somber memorials for bicyclists who are killed or hit on the street. A bicycle is painted all white and locked to a street sign near the crash site, accompanied by a small plaque. They serve as reminders of the tragedy that took place on an otherwise anonymous street corner, and as quiet statements in support of cyclists' right to safe travel.
Carl and I decided to make an impromptu movie about Vivienne Morrison, Ghost Writer.
Vivienne and her sister moved to Boulder in the late 1800's and lived together in the cabin. Her sister died in a mining accident, leaving her to live out the remainder of her days alone.
Upon her passing, the ghosts of Vivienne and her sister returned to the cabin and began to write the story of their struggles to survive in early Boulder County.

What a blend of early Black Sabbath and Mercyful Fate, at least that was my first thought. Put aside the theatrics and ghoulish imagery and you have some great music. I was surprised by how tight this band was and the sludgy, groovy black metal.

All this time and only today did I notice that you can still, very faintly see "BOOKS" written on the corner wall of the Edinburgh Bookshop, under the paint. I think the morning light was hitting it just at the right angle for me to finally notice this ghost sign this morning on the way in, can't believe I hadn't noticed it before!

Ghosts have fun every day because they can do whatever they want without worrying about the consequences. They can scare people, play pranks, fly around, and explore new places. They don't have to pay bills, do chores, or follow rules. They can also enjoy the company of other ghosts and share their stories and experiences. Ghosts have a lot of freedom and variety in their afterlife, which makes them happy and playful.
Neskowin Ghost Forest.
~2000 years ago, an earthquake shifted this piece of land, and the forest was swallowed up by the sea. It sat buried, preserved by sand and sea until it was uncovered by big storms in the late 1990s. These stumps are the remains of 2000 year old sitka spruce trees that were thought to have stood 150-200 feet high at one time.
We went out just after sunrise/low tide to visit the ghost forest. It was raining lightly, and we had the beach pretty much to ourselves. It was incredibly peaceful and eerie feeling; appropriate for a ghost forest.
