Guy on Queen St East in Toronto runs as a surpirse downpour hits the streets. He had a much higer sense of urgency than the couple with umbrellas! If you like my street photography please www.robertgreatrixphotography.ca or www.torontophotographs.com for more.

Here i am, one leg wet, and well not entirely impressed with getting my shorts wet. Head is blurry though - kind of cool, it makes it look unreal-ish.
Another Windsor Camera Club entry. This one's for the "getting wet" assignment category. This picture is a very small portion of a much larger photo. I also burned down some of the brighter spots in the background, desaturated that orange a bit, did "autolevels" i think, and sharpened it a bit to bring out the detail in the water droplets. As usual, I added a bit of a darker border.

I got a ribbon for this one.

A project to restore the abandoned watercress beds in the Oxfordshire village of Ewelme, together with the creation of a new local nature reserve.
After the construction of the new visitor centre was completed, the land needed to be levelled between the building and the Ewelme Brook. The weight of the soil was such that a concrete retaining wall needed to be built to prevent it sinking into the water. This in turn was then faced with wooden boards.
Here a pathway was being made behind the wooden posts for the concrete blocks to be positioned.

Well, joy of joys, today we got some sorely needed rain!
It isn't always much fun to be out in, and I'm sure it must have dampened a few weddings, picnics and barbecues, but some creatures need the rain more than we need to stay dry.
If you were tempted to complain about it, think of the thirsty snail!
Me on the cross country course.

How many times has this happened to you? A brief Summer shower reminds you of when you were a kid and you used to play in puddles. I know I did as a child and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I swear every time I look at this picture I crack up laughing! He looks like he is getting ready to go into battle with his stance but what he is really doing is making the water spray really far. He figured out if he stepped on the purple tube that that's where the water was and he could shoot it really far into the air by stepping on it.
Some 'family-in-from-out-of-town' from last summer (2007).
My youngest sister Vange, her husband Victor and their sons
Brian and Timothy, and daughter Sabrina stopped by Chicago
on their way home from western Canada. We spent some of
our time together downtown... including getting pretty wet at
Millennium Park. Perfect day for it! My nephew Brian is in the
black t-shirt... enjoying the water... if not so much the noise.
Had we JUST stayed here... I think the kids would have been
totally satisfied.
And who can blame them? As you can clearly see... Millennium
Park (and a little cooling water on a hot day) is enjoyed by
'kids' of all ages!
Upstream from the old packing shed, the stream flows past the back gardens of houses on the High Street, a pleasant outlook for those living in them.

One of the perpetual tasks at Ewelme is keeping the vegetation under control, both in the meadows and in the stream itself.

Tourists having fun in the water fountain inside the Lost Zone of Universal Studios Park in Sentosa in Singapore. This section is based on Juraasic Park, and has dinosaurs and dinosaur eggs and a water fountain between them, and visitors can get drenched in this water as well. In the background is the entrance for the ride. Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park located within Resorts World in Singapore. It was opened to the public in a grand opening in 2011. Some of the major rides inside the park include Transformers, the roller coaster Battlestar Galactica, the dark and horror filled ride called Revenge of the Mummies, many smaller rides for children, a small attraction which mimics the creation of speciall effects in Hollywood for a hurricane in New York, and numerous other such attractions. There are a total of 7 zones, namely Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away, and Madagascar; each of these zones has their own themed attractions and rides. There are a large number of visitors who come to enjoy Univesal Studios, and it can get particularly bad on weekends with queues for the more popular rides.
