Opportunities to get out and make new pictures are, of necessity, limited during the COVID-19 outbreak so, from 1st April 2020, I've been hunting through my archives to find images taken on the same date in previous years. I've tried to choose eight each day. They've mostly not been published here before and potentially cover the period 1980-2020. I hope you enjoy them.

Getting Closer to This First Panel by Joe McKenna

One of those heart pounding moments, there is such a joy to seeing these ancient paintings. Somewhere between 2000 and 7000 years old, they are amazing things to behold. Heading deeper into Horseshoe Canyon towards Water Canyon (think 127 hours), the scenery continues to get better and the first of the archaeological sites appear.

Luckily they all know well enough how I cannot stand roses at all - not the passionate reds, not the sweet pink ones, not the friedly but robust yellow, not the innocent girly whites, not even the elegant champagne colored ones, not to even talk of the horrible picotees.

My true cut flower love is the Bells of Ireland, which is green. But this one that my friend One brought me is also very interesting! I don't even know her name.

Looks more like an animal than a flower, actually.
