Mrs. Tidrick gets her picture taken on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial overlooking the reflecting pool and the Washington Monument. Thanks, Mrs. Tidrick, for making this trip possible!
This photo satisfies requirement 4. I manually set the White Balance at 10000K to get a warm tone when the daylight appeared to be too cold. Since Chinese calligraphy is an old and traditional art form, the warmer tone brings out a more vintage feel. I adjusted the angle a little bit to make the picture more balanced in Lightroom.

Kids were already in the tent. They had started to get cold. Never got that cold, though. Maybe mid-40's.

The atmosphere looks to be getting some moisture (cloudage). Looks like the weather was transitioning into a more interesting scenario! Much of the West Coast was to see showers and numerous thunderstorms in the next 24-48 hours as an unusually strong low pressure area drifts inland from the Pacific... Bring on the storms! Pic taken from San Jose, CA. (Friday, May 29, 2020; 1:20 p.m.)
*Weather scenario/update/forecast: The heat wave was finally ending. The main weather now shifts to showers & t-storms this weekend, beginning Friday evening. A low pressure system was just off the coast. This is a wet system, with moisture more than double normal levels. Abundant atmospheric moisture & dynamic lift & steep lapse rates were to combine to bring heavy rain over portions of NorCal. Scattered afternoon t-storms may develop across the area in the wake of this band as the core of the low moves over NorCal. The shower & t-storm threat were to diminish by late Saturday afternoon & evening, with a residual chance of showers into Sunday over the northern mountains & northern Sierras with the approach of a Pacific trough. This was to continue onshore flow & cloud cover over the state on Sunday, with some lingering showers & p.m. t-storms limited to Shasta County & dry elsewhere. The trough was to bring more mountain showers & afternoon t-storms by Monday to NorCal (while the Bay Area dries out)...

Getting ready to hike. The remnants of tropical storm Doria came through last night and it rained and blew like crazy. We had to let things dry out before we could store them in the car.
