This was my outfit for last nights visit to see Janet. new skirt and sweater my first autumn purchases,
skirt could have done with being a little shorter lol

This gopher looks very cute perched on top of an old fence post but he is taking a big risk. The area of Alberta that I photographed him has a large number of raptors who are always on the lookout for their next meal.
Go away Winter, I am ready for Spring! I was looking back through some of my West Virginia Waterfall images from last April to get in the mood for Spring, and thought I would share this one with you! Cathedral Falls is one of the prettiest in West Virginia. It makes a great first stop in the New River Gorge because it is a great indicator of water levels in the gorge. When I came to this same fall last autumn, it would have taken a few seconds to fill a milk jug the water was so low. With high water, this one is gorgeous! One of the best parts about this fall is that it is located in a round "cathedral."

Shadow has been coming around for a few months now. Pearl has been coming around for a couple of years, she looked pregnant and about to die when we first saw her so we started tossing scraps to her. Then came a bag of cat food to help her through til summer, then came a litter of kittens, two from that batch are still here. We don't know where Lucy or Shadow are from. They all seem pretty healthy now though and Pearl looks almost like a house cat and doesn't seem to go far from the house.
The reddish tone in the middle is reflection in the door window pane from the red sweater I was wearing.
