Me and Sami, once again, this time, taking a picture for our health project on homophobia and gay rights. We took a bunch of pictures of people holding a sign that they would write "it gets better" on, then we put them all together in a video along with some other photos and statistics. Hopefully I can get that up here at some point!

Fall is (unfortunately) also a season of first colds and flu, so I made few get well cards. I used Small variety alphabeth to compose a sentiment and sweet apple image from Designer fruis clear set. Tfl

It was a stunning moonlit night at Katharinenhof / Gahlendorf Beach on the island of Fehmarn on Jan. 11th, 2014, "featuring" - besides a gorgeous waxing gibbous moon - planet Jupiter (currently positioned in the constellation of Gemini) on the left (that is, the brightest star trail) and the constellation of Orion rising on the (right - NE) horizon.
Thanks so much for your time!
Buona visione.

Having not photographed anything since December 1st, I just had to get out and shoot. Saturday the weather was good, so I headed out. Glen Helen was packed full of hikers, so I opted for a less busy location. George Rogers was close by, and not busy.
While not the most scenic waterfall by any means, it still offers some good scenery and is close to home. I've already photographed this falls many times, so this day I looked for different compositions that I have not already done. In this scene my goal was to catch the swirls in the shallow, splash pool below the falls. The green moss on the rocks helps add some color, to a rather dull winter scene. I'm ready for Spring!

After several months hard working for the show, we feel tired, and would like to take some rest :) and prepare to have fun in the party :)))
hope to see you guys in the bday party :D
Such colorful birds, often taken for granted because we see them so often.
But look at this: an iridescent green head, yellow bill and orange feet, gray in the body and wings, accented with an intense blue speculum on the wing set off by bright white borders, a brown breast and a white tail with a black overlay that includes a curl. What an amazing compilation of parts!
Not too long to crazy and then it's a short journey to weird. Go through fire, go through ice... before you know it, you are inviting everyone to get weird.

"Remember when getting high meant swinging at the playground. The worst thing you could get from boys was cooties. Mom was your hero. Dad was the boy you were going to marry. Your worst enemies were your siblings. Race issues were who ran the fastest. War was a card game. Cough medicine was the only drug you had ever heard of. Drama was a type of play. Wearing skirts didn't mean you were a slut. When you said wasted you were talking about time. The only thing you smoked was the tires on your bike. The only thing that hurt was skinned knees. The only things that could get broken were your toys. Life was simple and care free. But what I remember the most was wanting to grow up." Anonymous
HAVE A SEAT is the topic for Wednesday July 13. 2011
I’m getting ready for some off-road adventuring and I want to take a “solid” doll to play in the mud so I’ve been holding “auditions.” I was playing around doing a few tests to see how quickly I can pose some dolls while getting them to stand and balance on their own without aid. Finally get Both dolls standing on their own AND almost touching each other... and CAT!
I have no idea how she didn’t knock those dolls down, they even stayed standing after she left!
Setting them up if I even BREATHED near the desk one or the other would start to tip over.
Went to the farmer's market this morning with my man. Fresh eggs, fruit and vegi's are in my fridge! Well, most of the eggs.
Pretty sure eggs in a bowl are cliche.... especially on Easter weekend! HCS!

For my this challenge, Ari, who goes by the name of Lord Nikon 12, His challenge was,
"I am having a great time going through your stream. You take so many beautiful photos, but I don't see any people :(
My challenge to you is to take some portraits and maybe start a 100-strangers project. After that, go wild!".
I had so many ideas for this challenge, but for some reason or another, none of them came thru due to my timing or the people I wanted to take portraits of.. Anyhow, I always wanted to learn the in-camera multiple exposure setting. This was the perfect opportunity for me to do that. This is the portrait of my mum who has come to stay with us.
The tree in this picture is a very old, tall tree right across my house.. I see it change every season..but it still weathers all the changes and still stands tall and majestic.. This gave me an idea to portray my mum and the tree together.. Mum has been a steady rock in my life. She has weathered many many changes in her life lately, but she still stands tall and weathers anything that comes her way with a smile on her face..
Ari, I hope you like this portrait of my mum.. and I am hoping that I find courage to start the 100 strangers project like you suggested sooner than later.. :)
Thanks again for the challenge. It was fun learning a new technique. I have to add that this is not an in-camera shot. Somehow when I downloaded them, they all had a very strong pink tint to them. I have no idea why. Will need to figure that out. However, it is a fun technique and Ari, I hope to see you soon again!
This photo was taken last week also in the abandoned airplane hanger. Not as satisfied with this one but the upside newspaper that ironically says "get smart" tells a story. Canon 430EXII shot through 22in. Beauty dish with grid at full power. Canon 430EXII shot through home made snoot pointed at the newspaper at 1/64th power. Tamron 18-200mm
I haven't been out on a night shoot since Sept 2007... geez - I need to get my head in the cold evening sky. Here's an oldie from the end of 2006. January 08's moon is nearly full.... let's get out there!

There are times when you get a Flickr Group cover and it's an amazing feeling. Then there are times when you get a Flickr Group Cover for a store you're showcasing and it feels like you're doing something right! hehe... Thank you so much Veronika for this!!
After seeing a mention by Stephen Downes of a presentation he did for the 2023 Open Education Conference called Open Learning in the Fediverse which is now, thanks to Dr Tesla, the hot topic.
For some reason I felt an urge to remix the opening credits to a favorite show when I was a kid, Get Smart.
Okay, there is a low resolution image in Wikimedia Commons declared as fair use, for which my use here is likely not a qualifier. Hmmm, How about a case of parody? To the copyright holders, if anything, my use might offer more people to look up this classic show, watch, and appreciate what a treasure it was. My use is not o steal or take away from Get Smart but to honor it.
Who owns popular culture? The rules are not written into law, so my remix is likely the most legal. But I will roll the dice.
My source was a screen grab from the YouTube video www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJ6gdRfBW6c where I used Photoshop to copy brush out the SMART letters, and replicate with a font guess (Georgia) for the words "Federated".
Is this changed enough from the original? Leave it to the lawyers.
