Getting close to the structure of Britannia bridge.
Britannia Bridge is a bridge across the Menai Strait between the island of Anglesey and the mainland of Wales. It was originally designed and built by the noted railway engineer Robert Stephenson as a tubular bridge of wrought iron rectangular box-section spans for carrying rail traffic.
And in the far distant is the first longest suspension bridge - the Menai Suspension bridge.

This Brown Creeper has been a regular visitor to my yard in Chester County, PA right through the Winter. Recently I noticed a second Brown Creeper and I thought they might be a pair until I witnessed my resident bird adopting this threat display when the second one got too close, and then subsequently chasing the intruder away.

PS. Some people have suggested that this my be not be aggression, but possibly courting behavior.
The Wood Duck chicks are getting bigger, but she is missing three. Kevin Fox took a picture of them on 6-16-18 and all twelve were there. Keeping our fingers crossed no more disappear. Peace Valley Park, New Britain Pa.

This 41 Squadron Jaguar GR3A is pictured getting airborne from RAF Coltishall 15 years ago today.
I needed to stand on top of my truck's tonneau with my tripod in order to get a clear shot of the Kite's nest. Lucky for me, the tonneau holds 500 lbs.

A police officer asks a German tourist to move her bicycle up on the sidewalk. The bicycle race Tour of Denmark was visiting and police was driving ahead of the caravan to clear the road. As the tourist had not heard of the bicycle race and driving on the sidewalk is prohibited, she needed an explanation. 'Warum?' (Why). The officer raised his voice. 'Get up there.' They're getting big. It won't be long before the fledge the nest. They're very active in the nest and this was the only time I could see the two of them in the viewfinder at the same time. My sightline into the nest is a very small window, so I'm happy to get this to keep an eye on them.

The fig tree is laden. The fruit is perfectly ripe enough for the Satin Bowerbirds, but not yet good enough for humans. We'll be lucky to get any, but we do get to watch the birds stuff themselves silly.
Puffins-DSC_6457-Puffins and Rzorbills share the top of the cliff on Ile aux Perroquets but the Razorbills seem a bit camera shy.

This was taken on one of the main pedestrian streets in Leeds, England. Not sure if this street is always decorated with Union Jacks or this is flying in anticipation of the Coronation.
It's been a while since I've been to the Lake District, I keep managing to find a photo from my last hike there.. but photo's are running short... I need another visit :-)

It's a foggy morning as Norfolk Southern train 37Q darts past train 16T. The two freights are meeting at Cleversburg Junction, the site of an old spur to a nearby iron ore mining operation that's been gone for more than a century. The rumble from NS 9165 grows louder as the engineer charges up the air and gets ready to roll. The old Conrail tri-lights are blinking an Approach Limited, letting him know he can proceed east on the Lurgan Branch.
