(Dang it all, how did I get another video on its side?) I am 6 foot 1 1/4 inches in my stocking feet ( I prefer "in my hose feet" ) and have always been deathly afraid of towering above the maddening crowds when in public, hence part of my great fear of going out. You see I also love heels, even small ones! This video is a break through for me in more ways than one, you see this is my very first time actually in public and close enough to be seen and interact with people! More on this great day and event later! But for now, I somehow got the courage to walk into a grocery store. Do you recall that first time, it seems that you steel your nerves and then some sort of auto pilot takes over....and in you go! In any event the moment I went in I grabbed a grocery cart and off I went! Within a few seconds I noticed a tall very attractive blond GG. She was tall in the attractive sense to me, not tall in the freaky, could play in the NBA sense. I said to myself, I have to find out just how badly I must stand out, being now 6'1 1/4" with another 2 inches of heels. So I headed off for this pretty blond with the sole intention of somehow standing next to her and getting a visual comparison of what a monster I surely was! Much, much, much to my surprise, as you can see in the video, she was almost exactly my height! ........ Wait a minute, if I think she is quite attractive and of a normal, albeit not short, size.....then can it be true, do I not stand out in a public place as some gigantic freak of nature causing everyone to immediately turn and stare at the amazon woman, or worse, at the bride of king long! ( Say, Do I talk to much in these little essays? Does anyone besides Toni Richards or NikiLynn read this far? -giggle) in any event, I was stunned upon review of this video that this attractive blond MILF in the produce section was almost exactly my height (even with my heels on)! This may be old hat to many of you, but for those of us 6 got and above, it was a stunning revelation to me that I could go out in public and not stick out as some oddity or freak! What an awakening! I will wait for another day to discuss how I looked and felt otherwise. I notice that the blond in the produce section gave me a hard look as I walked away! Was I read, did I look at all passable, what was she thinking? This was such an exciting emotive day for me that I have no recollection or feel for how I was! I know I have a long way to go, but this was one incredible day for shy little reticent Bobbi!

More emulsion photography. Several months ago, the Poly Photo club in San Diego put on a workshop that included a presentation by one of our members about how to create emulsion art using whole milk, food coloring and dish washing detergent. I loved seeing the results by our members, and decided to try it. Here's a link to a website that shows exactly how to do it:

Lighting stuff: I used a bare YN560-III, in manual mode, to put some light to to the emulsion. The flash was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N. I've also posted a picture of the setup that I used, because sometimes people find that to be helpful. Check the first comment down below to see the setup.
More photographs of colorful emulsions (although created differently) are in my pretentiously titled Emulsion Art album.
Hello again. I've had half a year off from photography (well, I've taken some pics, just not done anything with them) so haven't posted anything for a while but this does mean I've got a huge amount of pics to get through. I'll start with Autumn. Hopefully they'll be done before it comes round this year!
Upper Aysgarth Falls from a point of view you don’t normally see.
I had to go straight through the middle area of the shot to get here. Some local forest dwellers tripped me with a rope on the way across but after defeating their leader in stick based combat they allowed me to lead them against the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Most of them died in the conflict.
That’ll seem pretty weird if you haven’t seen the film.

Tried a dollshe sized shirt on him and it fits! It's a little big in the neck, but that's more the fluffy collar than anything.

The Nicolas church, usually known as the Bergkerk or Hill Church, in my hometown. Actually quite a difficult shot to get as you can't really take the distance you want, so this is a 3-shot panorma.
The Church was built in Late Gothic style in the late 12th Century on a sand hill that was created by the river IJssel. Originally Roman-Catholic, later Dutch Reformed. Nowadays a venue for concerts and performances.

I took this photo at Østensjøvannet, a lake in Oslo during my recent visit to Norway. It is well known for the wide variety of birds and other wildlife that can be found there. It is surrounded by the Østensjø borough. It is currently a wildlife preserve.

The baby hummingbirds are about nine days old now, and big enough that their heads come beyond the edge of the nest during feeding time. The motherbird is away from the nest for longer periods as she tried to find enough food to feed them.

Ha! Ha! Of course you don’t. On the off chance you do, you my friend, need to get a real life!
Anyway, I had posted that shot up here on the ol’ Flickr a while back. It was winter and after dropping my son Joseph off in the Big Smoke (Toronto), I stopped off at the former CNE site, which is close by to where he lives. I froze my whatsits off whilst capturing the image on a cold night. Well, lo and behold, a number of months later, I get a Flickrmail from a media company in the city, requesting my permission to use the image in a mural that was to be created on the premises of the former CITY-TV building on Queen St. West (now Bell Media). Additionally, they were offering financial compensation. Well, I consulted my team of lawyers (”…all Harvard men”), checked with the accountants to see if this would push me over into a higher tax bracket (two movie references, if you’re counting) and finally asked the CFO for her opinion… “Hell ya man! Go for it! (…or something like that)” So, we fired off invoice number #1385 and waited.
A few weeks later the mural was done. So, gathering the clan for a viewing, we loaded up the Studebaker, headed off for the city with a hoop ‘n a holler, even enjoying a meal on the lavish stipend that was forked out. I snapped a couple of photos for posterity.
My fame in perpetuity… well, at least until they paint it over for a new mural, or rip the building down for expensive condos, or some punks come along with their spray cans and…
Just learning to ride under a helpful eye. Seen while walking back from the beach near dusk. The background walker was too close in the best photo of the boy so she has been moved from the second photo when the boys leg was on the ground.
Have a good weekend when you get there. We are just 6 hours off it.
Picture Spring - Day 5
Shooting at ground level with my camera resting in the grass is not the easiest thing to accomplish and still be happy with the result. I must have taken dozens of shots. At least the little blue flower is more or less in focus. I have mixed feelings about this kind of exercise in which I feel I have no control whatsoever. It's very touch-and-go... a rather precarious feeling!
"You can reach me by sailboat, climb a tree and swing rope to rope
Take a sled and slide down the slope, into these arms of mine
You can jump on a speedy colt, cross the border in a blaze of hope
I don't care how you get here, just get here if you can
There are hills and mountains between us
Always something to get over
If I had my way, surely you would be closer
I need you closer"
