(I DONT ONLY HAVE ONE EYEBROW LIKE IT LOOKS IN THIS!!!) I wish i could sit here and tell you that things are getting easier/better but i cant so im still in the grump ass mood ive been in for weeks that feels like years. someone really needs to smack me out of this cuz i legit stayed up all night with a pit in my stomach just thinking of how much time im wasting and how i know for a fact nothing good is going to come in the end. I feel like im being lied to every second of everyday and things are being hidden from me.. hi im a big girl just tell me the truth so i can deal with the real situation. I am dying to take a shower right now and am going to right after this, i feel nasty today and my weave is itching like crazyy!(haha) I had practice this week and yesterday was the first day i actually did something cuz my whole group was there which is a hiuge surprise.. but my legs and tummy are killllin me. so sore. Remember what i said about not using my cell ohone as much?? yea that was bullshit im addicted and not proud of it. The other day in gally an older black man asked me my name and told me i was beautiful then kissed my hand.. creepy? yes but why cant every guy be like that, it was so sweet and genuine. Really been thinking of tattoos lately but i really have no idea what i would get and it makes me really sad cuz i know i def want one and i think i know where i just dont know what... ok shower and practice time xo
This area seems to have more Fall colors for so early in the season (it's not actually Fall yet). We got up early to see what kind of light we would get and found the misty morning pictured here.
Cleo tolerated her witches disguise for roughly three minutes. This was the only good shot I could get, and it's a cute one!
If the Outlet Village in Glasshoughton was a church of consumerism, here's Leeds' cathedral. However negative that sentence sounds though, I must confess to being rather partial to this type of building, especially in spring when all the trees around it are just coming to life. And on a Sunday, so the dedicated bus station next to the centre was almost deserted.
While sitting on the top floor sipping an expensive cup of lightly-flavoured boiled water, it was quite something to see just how packed a place like this can get, and yet still not feel particularly crowded. The only places it does feel crowded are in the tiny little shops... twenty people in a room not much larger than my apartment.
Alright, so this photo session went better than the last but I'm still not happy with it, more from the technical aspects such as the poor attention to what my f-stop was set on. But really, I think it that had been set right this picture would have made it into a frame. I should crop to just our upper halves as well but I just couldn't crop out the two older ones holding hands. So as my daughters pre-k teacher used to say "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit".
Hope everyone had as beautiful weather as we had here in Texas.
Lots of blankets, as much sun as we could get, and about 70% of a book completed. Probably a nap thrown in for good measure.

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

I was excited to be home this weekend; it was my first (and likely last) time to escort my nephew around for trick-or-treating. He slapped this costume together in the hour before we left: Scream ghost meets Darth Vader meets sombrero'ed Mexican. Hunh.
It was a wonderful night, playing "mama". It reminded me of being a kid in a small town again... how things weren't eternally shrouded in bullshit and scenesterism. It was just about how much candy you get.
And isn't that what life should be about, really?

I think I heard Of Love,
that’s when there’s nothing left that you can’t feel right?,
Like when your mother slaughters you with her words and fists
and your father abandons you at a time you desperately need him the most,
and yet you sit there and bare this undying agony this so called Love,
and you torture your body with alcohol and drugs to numb away that sinking feeling in your heart and stomach you usually get,
and you end up sleeping with every scumbag guy you meet so you can for a second feel secure and whole again
I believe I heard of Hope,
that’s when there’s nothing else that you can possibly live or is the opposite direction,
when everyone thinks you’re the enemy, and you have no real friends to talk to and every damn teacher or counselor,
you have wants to make your situation worse by talking to you psychotic mother about your so called problems giving you Hope.
That’s when loneliness takes a stride in your back seat,
and your mind spirals out of control and you stare out,
inflicting pain upon pain on yourself because you can’t stand the fantasy of this time consuming reality.
And as far as a Better tomorrow,
that’s Just a dream, something stupid made up for you to think that your life will or can change,
that your mother will Love you unconditionally,
not laying one single finger on you,
or that Hope you have just knowing that your dad is your hero that he won’t be able to leave,
and suddenly you find yourself indulged in peace and prosperity

We had no plans for Thanksgiving except to stay home in the unseasonable cold so Mrs M took a few personal days off. Armed with reservations via Hotwire (you never know what you're going to get) and a rental car, we set out for a new 7 days, 6 nights adventure.

It tickles me that I got this image by holding up my phone's camera to the TV screen and taking a video, EXACTLY the same way our gang used to get and share the PAL VHSes of new episodes we'd get mailed to us from England back then: camera-copies, our own homebrew standards-conversion!

A few days ago, jasonbbb711 challenged me to build an octahedron frame using all my magnets. Well, challenge completed! Due to the scaffolding involved in building this shape, I couldn't use all of my magnets, but this is about as close as I could get.
And this thing is BIG. How big? Well, too big to fit on the turntable that I normally use for videos. Too big to even fit in my tabletop photo studio (which, by the way, is why I had to go back to my old setup for this shape). Too big, even, for me to be able to use my mini-tripod, meaning that all of these photos (and the video) had to be taken freehand.
The vagaries of life can rock our world and leave some of us rolling instead of walking.
Navigating the new reality of being in a wheelchair presents many challenges, not the least of which is figuring out how to get - and remain - fit.

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

We temporarily changed our vehicle for a sturdy Russian 4*4 and made our way up the mountain hills torward Aktru Glacier...which would soon be one of the most awesome sights any of us had seen....
The Altai Republic is a magnificent place with huge majestic mountains with a few glaciers dotted inbetween. If there was ever a place for riding your bike, this is it. The single road through the Altai (Chotsky Trackt) is as smooth as it gets and goes right through the heart of some of the most amazing scenery in the world.

My how time passes, and how the days add up....
One of the few structures to survive the raid of Bloody Bill Anderson on Danville MO on October 14, 1864,
Believing the union troops were hiding in the various structures, Anderson's troops were preparing to burn it down (like most of Danville). Several girls pleaded in their best southern accents that they were just southern girls getting and education and begged them not to burn the academy. One is even rumored to have hung her petticoat over this building's door. Anderson's raiders relented, and did not burn any of the academy's buildings.
This is the only one of the structures remaining from the Academy. It is being restored by the county and a couple of historical groups.

I remember one of the first novels I read as a teenager, Judy Blume's 'Are you there God? It's me, Margaret'. It got me thinking today about "infallibility". I don't know if any human being should be deemed "infallible", one thing about being human is that we're all bound to make mistakes. I'm a sinner, plain and simple. I suppose what distinguishes good and bad people are the redeemable qualities we are capable of displaying.
Spirituality and faith are fickle. We try to find faith in different things, in religious organizations, in heroes or idols, in nihilism, some even turn to atheism. At the end of the day though, I think that faith is subjective, the freedom to choose always comes at some cost and as clichés go "freedom is never free"...

Cecile is my Christmas present (only one I'm getting) and McKenna is a late Bday present. :)
Okay.... I have been feeling very very unprofessional since coming back to my page... that is because this is a camera photo. .I mean don't get me wrong, iPhone is the best camera qualities you could possibly get and sometimes i prefer their quality over some digital cameras... but idontknow i guess its just a personal thing but i just want to strictly upload digital photography on here and nothing to do with phone based photos uploaded. i need to start getting familiar with the camera again! shout out to California sunsets also. We have shitty gas prices, taxes, air, and the worst snobs for human beings here...but hey our sunsets are killllerrrr;]
The second of two pieces I got on clearance from Bandai Namco during Black Friday 2022 was this Storm Collectibles Zangief, based on his Ultra Street Fighter 2 appearance.
Funny thing is that it is the Event Exclusive colour, which technically should be harder to get and cost more aftermarket, but here we are - I think it was like $50 USD?
My best guess? People really, really love their P1 colours and refuse anything else.
I actually own a SFV Zangief and generally wouldn't have bitten even at this price, but the Zangief I have cam with a really bad waist joint, to the point where it doesn't actually hold together properly.
I also just realized I was too lazy to fish it out of a cabinet to do some comparison photos.
The two are the same height and are actually much different aesthetically than you would think - they're actually two very different figures, though as youc an imagine the base body engineering is the same... which means that Zangief still has a functional neck joint.
Yes, that sound stupid, but keep in mind that I've not opened a male Storm collectibles figure for quite a while now, and they actually stopped putting working neck joints in their female figures as early on as SFV Cammy.
This is also the company that ditched their stands, so really such a cost cutting step shouldn't surprise any one.
Several head sculpts are included with the figure, including an Ultra SF2 line exclusive "You Lose" head sculpt. They look appropriately ugly because well quite frankly SF2 Zangief wasn't as pretty as he is now.
In addition to the heads, the figure has several hands, two dedicated Banishing Fist palms and one actual effect. There is one stand which I think is to support the effect, but I can't find a hole anywhere to mount it.
Zangief's articulation remains good, though the actual range of motion is limited, particularly in the legs, due to the sheer bulk of them. Also, as one would expect some poses don't quite look natural.
First day shooting with my new Tamron 200-500mm lens. I was tired of always being too far off for these shots. After last weekend's shoot with two of my Flickr friends I saw the difference between what I was getting and the images they were capturing with their long telephoto lenses. It prompted me to make the move to the Tamron lens.
